As a former Holden technician, Make sure you change the oil and filter every 10,000km to avoid the engine to sludge up and kill the engine. also if it's high KM's and the engine has a slight tick or engine like make sure you take it to a dealer to get it checked and make sure if the timing chains need to be done. The V6's sludge up and have timing chain problems the can result in needing a new engine. Just thought i'd give you the heads up man.

I've only seen one VZ alloy tech break a chain guild but it's mostly the VE's. I've had series 1 and 2 have just as many problems as each other.
The plastic chain guides become brittle and break and chain tensioners become can become soft and not hold tension on the chain and smash valves if the chain jumps some teeth.

The V6 from Berlina to Caprice and every commodore that uses the V6 can have the timing chain problem and sludging problem.
Well you really shouldn't be in 3rd at 40-50kph. You should be going alot faster than that when getting it in 3rd. If the engine is feeling shuddery and no power then you should be in 2nd. If it's actually hard to shift in to 3rd then it quite possibly be a worn syncro or the wrong gearbox oil has been used.

mine was stock but I recently took it down for the motor refresh and new turbo set up. When all is said and done it should be a conservative 400whp for daily applications. I might try and push it a little and get 450 but we'll see. Im running a garrett gt2871/gt3076r hybrid turbo so Im limited to about 450 wheel. Thinking about selling that and picking up something else to make more power but I probably wont need it.

New BC coilovers, every suspension arm you can think of besides knuckles, solid bushings for the dif/subrframe, solid motor mounts, poly trans mounts, cusco 1.5way dif, spec clutch, new top mount turbo set up (currently being installed) and a bunch of random shit in the interior and the motor. I also just bought some dmax LED tail lights, origin racing line 60mm wide body and a dmax spoiler. The aero on the car is Traum type 1 and Im currently on MB Battles 18x9.5+15.
Im diggin those work VS. I really want to get some work VSKFs soon but I gotta wait til the turbo set up is complete.
