Undertale is pretty good and decently cheap as well. It's "thing" is that it's an rpg but you can befriend all the monsters in the game instead of the usual kill every grind stuff from games like Final Fantasy. It's very story based because you can interact with so many monsters when you aren't killing them. It also sports turn based bullet hell mechanics for combat which I found fun and challenging enough to keep the battles feeling interesting.
