i am working on a story about the genetecist who created fluffies for hasbio. gives some backstory on how it all got started and what animals he used. (based on fluffy abilities and how they look, trying to account for fluffy appearance and what they can do based on animals that actually exist.)
basic story outlines who he is. who his fluffy is (the first fluffy, the patient zero fluffy the one that spawned all)
what they were intended to be and what they were intended to do before peta raided the facility and let loose the not yet perfected fluffy vermin onto the world.
then goes on to show that his fluffy has reprogrammed itself to nolonger sound like a retarded toddler but instead sound like a superintelligent 12 year old (because he gave it a 125 IQ because reasons)
patient zero fluffy starts to deteriorate due to old age and he has to find out why to save its life. because he is in hiding because peta actually put him on a hit list, and the fluffy is his only company.
it will also go into several different branches, one idea i had was to have him stumble on to an abuse forum and some guy has discovered bluetooth functionality in his fluffy and is getting into its codebase and discovering exactly what it is that makes fluffies tick and how they are able to spontaneously learn language just by getting older. he also finds out about fluffy command phrases that will 100% of the time make a fluffy do certain things ie:
go to sleep /sm (sleep mode)
stop talking by disabling its speech centers. /ss(stop speech)
make it always use a litter box /gp (good poopies)
or use a toilet /ut (use toilet)
make it stop eating until you re enable its hunger. /sh (stop hunger)
make it commit suicide by chewing its own legs off and then vomiting its own internal organs /ks (kill self)
also enable the spoken maual that is in every fluffy brain /help

It's these details that make a story. They define characters. If fluffies have a computer, it's a genetic computer, meaning capabilities beyond anything silicon could dream of. Can the fluffies be used as normal computers? Just how smart could fluffies actually be? Fill in gaps, set a hard reality and stick to it. You have a wonderful concept, and a good plot starter. Fill in details and you'll have a story worthy of the highest awards 4chan can present. (which aren't particularly illustrious, I'll admit. But hey, praise is praise, and you're already getting some. Keep it up!)

EPIPHANY! he tests his theory and it works. turns out that the fluffs have the same default pair code as all bluetooth which last i checked was 0000 next thing he knows his fluffy says in a mechanical phone voice "pairing complete"
this confuses the fluffy and as it starts to ask a question he dials his buddy and the fluffy is a speaker phone bluetooth device for the whole call. he never tells his buddy but he cant stop laughing as his buddies voice is coming from the fluffy.
he ends the call and pairs it to his computer and begins hacking the "Friendly Hasbio Fluff OS"
also yes. the genetecist tells in his backstory that the fluffies were meant to also be able to help with your kids homework and do calculus and physics caclulations but not know what any of it meant. just that the calculations were correct.
other final model abilities were meant to include: internet conectivity, updates from hasbio, personality profiles, command phrases that will be obeyed every time all the time, the ability to be a bluetooth device list goes on.

This could certainly be interesting, but make sure everyone knows it's more weirdbox than an attempt at serious canon. People tend to respond badly to Mary Sues written seriously, and a fluffy that basically negates all the downsides of fluffydom and ascends to a supergenious is definitely a Mary Sue character. Arguably the godlike commands (Why wouldn't all fluffies automatically use the litterbox? Why would someone program them to eat their legs?) make the human character one as well.

and as for the rest of the reasons that fluffs dont automatically do what people would expect a bio toy to do. the fluffs also were meant to have an accessory called the toilet stairs. so that if the owner wanted it to use the toilet instead of a litter box (litter box being the default, or outside on the lawn) then it would use the toilet. but because of peta intervening and fucking everything up. those parameters were not programmed in time.

Not really, but there are a ton of holes, and I figure there must be plenty of ideas to fill them and the thin parts (ie. almost all of it), as I've heard some pretty great ideas in previous threads, but I've heard little contribution since.
Nobody has discussed 2d/2.5d versus 3d versus mixed yet, and I think it's rather important to discuss. Honestly I don't really have an opinion myself right now, it's a tough choice.
