Not really. He's a career politician who has sold his opinion to fossil fuel companies. He probably doesn't actually believe climate change isn't real. "Current inventory statistics from the USDA (as of July 1, 2015) show us that there are currently 98.4 million cattle in the United States of America"

"fires up" how so?

The brain doesn't assume homeostatic functionality until the 7th month. Homeostasis is one of the fundamental requirements for multicellular organisms to be considered biologically alive.

If you want to go further than that, the brain isn't cognitively aware or doing ANYTHING higher in level than digestion/stimulus response until 1-2 weeks after birth in humans. They have zero memory capacity and cannot think prior to that point because the human brain has so much surface area it actually develops beyond the gestation period.

I believe its real; but I also believe its a natural process that we are powerless to change and that politicians are using it as a pretext to shuffle money around and subsidize their lobbyist friends to do various green initiatives.

When the Vikings settled Iceland in 874 it was actually a lot warmer than it is now. The Sahara desert has oscillated in size between dry periods and wet periods for hundreds of thousands of years and then of course there are the various ice ages and mini ice ages.

Its also interesting to note that the warming trend witnessed in the 20th century has slowed and almost completely stopped over the past 15 years and climatologists have no real explanation why. And yet despite this the rhetoric around global warming has only increased because climatology has ceased to be a legitimate scientific field and has instead transformed into a political movement which exists solely to sell the theory that governments must tax us and shuffle around huge amounts of money in order to save the planet. Thus you hear every year that its the warmest on record even if the increase is so slight that its within the margin of error and you see nature specials with polar bears perched on melting icebergs even though the damned things populations have actually been increasing.

TLDR: Its real; but its a natural cycle and politicians are using it as an excuse to spend money.

>>680927216
Waste is the only issue with it. We are researching ways to turn the waste into safe material. Another possibility is to reprocess the waste into plutonium, which can then be used again in nuclear energy. As for hurting people, look at nuclear plant incidents in the US. In every case where there was a fatality, except one, the only person who was killed was killed by contacting an electric line. Even three mile island was extremely small. Very small amounts of nuclear material was released, and nobody was injured or killed. The only large nuclear disasters have been outside of the US where nuclear power regulations are more lax.

>>680928226
Except land mines are designed specifically to kill people. Also, far more people have died from landmines than nuclear energy. I don't think you realize how few people have died from nuclear power in the US. It's way less than coal, natty gas, or oil.

So you like all those wars in the Middle East ehh? Like the NSA spying on you without warrants? Because Clinton loves that shit.

Obama and Clinton supported a drone campaign that bombed 8 nations simultaneously solely on Obama's executive orders. They pushed for regime change in Libya and Syria and in the process created a state of anarchy that allowed ISIS to rise to power. And they lied to the American people for years about the NSA's domestic spying operations.

You call those liberals? because it sounds like Bush style NEO Con garbage to me and you're a damned fool if you want the Democratic party to continue down that path.

Rand Paul isn't really a libertarian, he's a conservative with a handful of planks on his platform that libertarians agree with (he's critical of mass surveillance and some aspects of drug prohibition). I realize this, however, a lot of people get scared when they hear nuclear. Unless something happened to make him change A LOT recently, I think he's a saboteur driving a wedge between the Tealibanis and the Neocon base--that and airing out the GOP's dirty laudry from the moderates to see (KKK involvement, overt racism, overt sexism, Theocrats, Plutocrats, etc.).

The landmine comment was retarded. There's nothing to take out of context because it's just a stupid comparison. By the logic nothing is dangerous until it's dangerous. The GOP is an uneasy alliance of Big Business and religious conservatives. Only, in the last 15 years, Big Business has decided it's no longer profitable to be anti-gay, anti-women's rights etc. So the party is straining to stay together. In comes Trump, hijacking the tropes that Fox has been using for years, citing "the media" and "liberals" as ruing the country. He's got no substance but he saw an opportunity to make profit by getting his name and brand in the national spotlight once again.

Only it worked way better than even his campaign advisors thought it would, and he started to believe he could actually win. That's when his campaign advisor quit because he was out of control and started to actually believe the garbage he was saying.

So no, CO2 emissions have continued to grow; but the warming trend has slowed and there is no explanation for it.

A legitimate scientist would look at that fact and question the validity of their hypothesis, where as a zealot would just hammer a head while ignoring 15 years worth of data.

Maybe the past 15 years are an anomaly and we're getting ready to return to the warming rate that the 20th century models predicted, maybe not, I don't know and accepting that ignorance is the logical position given the data.

Sanders' "Wall Street is cheating you" reeks of financial illiteracy. Same for his claims that Wall Street caused the 2008 financial crisis. Not only did they have no role in issuing the loans that failed or in packing them into MBS, but they didn't even know the MBSs that Fannie and Freddy were selling them contained bad loans. It's easy for Sanders to blame Wall Street because they are an easy target, but anyone who knows the first thing about the financial services industry knows it isn't true.

Weathermen can barely predect the weather more than 1 week ahead of time. But yes, over decades even a dip in temperature is not enough to throw out the conclusions. And this isn't just people "feeling" that's true. They do math. They take measurements. Someone who's family has a large portfolio. Also, the bulk of my bonus in any given year is payed in stock options. I think you underestimate how many wealthy people are on /b/. A lot of people I work with are on /b/ (though they obviously don't make this information public).

Time to revive the "out-of-touch-with-reality young Republican" meme!
>>
>>680935128
>wall street (SEE IMAGE) and their COMPLETE DESTABILIZATION OF THE COUNTRY'S WEALTH

Go ahead and explain why exactly you think that. That's not what Wall Street is doing in the least and only a financially illiterate retard actually believes that.
>>
>>680934262
>Bernie Sanders is financially illiterate
>I did some work in finance in college
oh boy, looks like we've got a bad ass over here
>>
>>680935276

How financially in-tune people who spell "paid" as "payed" can there possibly be? Let alone on this site?
>>
>>680935446

Actually, I changed the image when I thought of how fucking retarded the post was--my bad.

Here. This is the "see image" I was going with before.
>>
>>680935433
I'm not a republican, lol.

>Global Climate Change is made up to take away our cars and end manufacturing

yeah step back amerifag, you won't believe it but you're just a little part of the world. If it's global it's not just happening in the USA.
>>
>>680935533
You forgot to mention that I've worked in the financial services industry for the past 6-7 years.
>>
>>680935831

It does alarm me just how many isolationists we have these days.

The South actually has a growing movement to try removing the US from the United Nations!

I swear, if a bomb hit the whole of those retards, the loss to this planet would be the exact cost of the materials that went into the construction of the bomb.
>>
>>680936053
fun fact
I troll change.gov for petitions for states to secede from the USA and report them to the FBI.
>>
>>680935579
I misstyped a word, big whup.

>>680935714
You still haven't explained how Wall Street is responsible for "destabilizing the US economy". My guess is because you can't, but don't let me stop you, go ahead and keep ad homineming.
>>
>>680936588

You're doing FSM's work, my son.

Actually, that combination of images speaks for itself to anyone who can fucking read a graph.

>The money. It's all going to the top 5%.
>Our economy is based in the circulation of currency through the system.
>The biggest greediest motherfuckers on the planet are STILL getting all the money and paying pittance levels of taxes compared to the middle class.
>Plutocrat crony Republicans exist to deregulate industry and feed the billionaires even more unearned money.

This destabilizes the national economy.

Also

>Know enough argue

Oh lawdy he's done it again.
>>
>>680937882
No, actually they don't. They show that wealth has redistributed upwards since the 80s, this is true. However, this does not mean that Wall Street has "destabilized" the US economy. You're probably the exact kind of idiot that Sanders appeals to. How exactly has Wall Street caused a financial crisis? I bet you can't answer this because you speak in generalities and don't really understand the system.
>>
>when people take bait seriously
sage this shit, anyone stupid enough to doubt climate change (human-caused or not) is not worth the energy it takes to argue with them
>>
>>680935128

>>
>>680923993
>>680923993
Climate is a dynamic thing that by nature has to change

Sure we can do things to lessen our affect, but not to the point of arbitrarily redistributing nationwealth to lesserstans on this earth.
Do you contribute to the world economy? No? Do you live with dirt floors? Expect creators of successful societies to bail you out? Tough shit.

Globalwarmtards however are ultimate cucks, waiting to be spoon fed fictional crises

Not a communist or republican. I'm liberal on some issues (pro gay marriage, pro choice, pro some levels of gun control (not total control), birth control, etc.), and conservative on others (gun control (because I don't support total control, a lot of foreign policy, taxes, etc.). I just don't want to pay over 50% of my income to programs that won't help me. I also don't like Sanders because it seems like he makes dumb people more vocal on issues they really don't understand.

Well, on my own personal experience where I live:

>90s
>enormous snowstorms regularly in winter
>school canceled for weeks sometimes cause couldn't clear the roads
>school canceled cause it couldn't even heat up all the classrooms properly
>snow in april was common

>2005-2016
>Barely any, if any snow during winter
>Spring-like temperatures, literally can't remember the last time I wore gloves or a scarf
>Just had one single day of a piece of shit snow and it melted the next morning

Idk man. Snow was the shit when I was a kid, we'd even dig tunnels to walk through it. Now it's become incredibly rare that last year we didn't even have a single snow day.

feels batman
