It's breathtaking, I think it's the most beautiful place in the entire country, we simply call it Old Plovdiv. In addition it has a forum excavations from the times of the Eastern Roman empire where you can actually go on them, not bad either.

Well, there's a lot of very good and well preserved places to visit (especially if you are looking for beaches, other countries too have coasts but they do not have that fine sand, mostly rocks and shit). However there isn't an option for a foreigner to know about or visit without his own vehicle or guidance from locals.
Bulgarians are friendly and appreciate tourists, I may say that tourists are welcomed. There are places that are so commercialized and popular tourism destinations, such as Greece and Italy that people just do not appreciate the tourists feeding them every summer.

i have been in bulgaria went to sofia,sunny beach and a couple of small villages, nice wweather 30-40+ in mid day, nice and cheap markets/reastaurants/bars, didnt have any problems with ciggos or getting scammed by locals becuase im not a dipshit
