Lot of people are talking in the last thread about the appeal of fluffy threads - to me it's similar to a horror movie.
Fluffies have their own lore - smarties, poopsies, nummies, the brown foals are bad, the stallions love to enf - and most of the time the payout is quick, painful, and satisfying. Just like it's satisfying when in a horror movie, the bully kid at the summer camp gets his guts torn out by Jason.
It's why I get uncomfortable with certain stories (like the Marble story that was posted earlier today) that just go on and on with the fucking torture. When I start to sympathize with the fluffy, it means the author is either doing a really good or really bad job.
The added bonus is that these things don't exist. So all the torture stories people post, there isn't a single fluffy walking the streets out there. It's like beating up dragons, or mermaids, or werewolves. Which makes it easier for me to digest than if we were doing this to actual horses, or dogs, or cats, or hamsters, or anything else that people actually torture.
