America is still the global export leader in manufacturing and production equipment. The assembly line was invented here and we're still the best at all aspects of it. I highly suggest you dig into chief exports of all countries. It's a fascinating subject.
As for resources, the only thing we lack in abundance are so-called 'rare earth' elements. China and (oddly) Afghanistan have these in abundance. It's unfortunately, but ultimately not a concern to either our capacity to produce or to innovate.
And that brings me to the biggest point: we innovate. Our competitors just produce. Even Europe, with its higher existence of advanced degrees etc, doesn't innovate in science, medicine, or technology at a competitive rate with America.
