Friendly reminder that:

-Bernie will lose to Hillary in the Democratic elections
-You are not entitled to free healthcare and college as you would be to basic needs such as food or water
-Raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour makes it harder to employ young people therefore jobs are scarce

And you do realize that Bernie Sanders didn't earn a paycheck until he was 40 years old right?

>-Raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour makes it harder to employ young people therefore jobs are scarce
That is not the problem retard.
Raising the minimum wage does nothing to the middle class wage. So if you keep doing it that eventually there will be no middle class.
Make it 20$/hr and all the necessities will increase in price to compensate again. People on min wage live the same, as all the new money flows up to the top.

Teach the poor not to have kids and they will live far better than what any min wage increase will give them.

Bankfag here. I work for one of the "big three" banks in the U.S. and can tell you that they are testing staff free branches in case of a$15.00/hour minimum wage. McDonalds is already working on it as well. Sure you could pass laws that prevents that. But prices overall will rise and you are in the same spot. I guess it's different where I live. In England, the majority of the rich are there because their family owned land, whilst the ancestors of the poor were their serfs. There don't have to work a day in their lives, and they're still rich because all they have to do is get a few dumb fucks to vote for them. Then they're sitting pretty. The system in the UK means that MPs only have to show up to commons a few times a year, the rest of the time doing basically nothing, whilst the taxpayer pays them a nearly 6 figure salary to occasionally make speeches about how they will clean up the constituency. Do that every 4 years and they're set for life.

Medicare is WAY MORE BROKEN than any other insurance program in history.
Doctors diagnose, treat, and prescribe medications based on medicare principles, and those change on a whim too.

Artificially increasing the worth of the work being done results in the prices of EVERYTHING going up to compensate for the now more expensive labour, which in turn has the effect of putting everyone in the same situation, but now the money they have more of is worth less per bill.

Simply put, if I make 10$ / hr min wage and the min wage is just raised to 15$ with nothing to support it except the idea that it'll make everything better, 15$ will now be worth what 10$ WAS just worth. It's a bit more complex than that, but that's the base gist of it.

People call him a cuck but I guess they'd rather get cucked out of their money and country by Goldman Sachs and Koch Industries.

This.

Do you conservatives even realize you're being fleeced by the banks and the super wealthy? Our education system is so bad that a high school degree is the equivalent of dropping out at 8th grade. Yet we pay an astronomical amount in taxes for our education system.

By introducing higher education standards or post high school education for free, those who graduate will end up with better skill set, earn higher wages, and will contribute more to taxes in their life time to offset the cost of free college.

Also, colleges are fleecing us too. The tuition rate has surpassed the inflation rate and yet continues to increase every year. What's the reason? Last time I checked public universities were subsided by state tax dollars, but it now costs a whooping $296 a credit hour for a 16 credit semester. And you have to take electives and classes you don't even need.

The solution is what? That's what we should be discussing.

I'm tired of members of the government saying we should pull ourself out of poverty, yet they kill any programs to help people get out of poverty.

TLDR: colleges, the wealthy are fleecing the taxpayers.

Not only will it cause inflation in places such as the food industry (paying workers more means that they have to charge more to offset the cost in order to prevent losing money), but it'll also drive up unemployment as all these welfare jiggaboos will come to find they no longer qualify for welfare support.
There will be a mass of current welfare persons "losing" their jobs in order to maintain welfare benefits.

Speaking as someone who works as a low lever corporate employee and has to constantly deal with corporate bitching about payroll%, this is how I see it going down.
You work a job where you make $8.50 an hour and work 30 hours a week. Now you make $15. So your boss gets a call from the payroll dept and that says "we need your payroll at such and such %" so they tell your manager to cut hours. So you now work 15 hours a week, and you're in the same position financially as you were before just with more free time. Because let's face it, just because they have to pay you more doesn't mean they have to work you the hours to back it up.

It's the fault of the American anti-intellectualism movement that's gradually being adopted more and more by people who haven't been properly educated by our system.

The world is getting flat, in order for us to compete in the market we as a nation need to improve our skill set. In order to do that we need to put incentives into place to help accomplish those things.

Our system is backwards, it's incentivized towards the 1%. Even the good hearted representatives we elect have to play ball with the 1% who contribute to both parties.

It's been like 5 years since I posted here, but I can add something to this thread, so bear with me.

When the world economy was maturing, oil consumption matured with it. Countries that found themselves sitting on a shitload of oil became rich countries by default. Now, how they managed all the treasure they had was up to them. Like the talent metaphor in the bible. The dumbest, niggerest and sandniggerest countries just sold it. Gave in to americans who now hold them by the balls while they spend their money on dumb shit like gold cars. Russians and some turks were kinda smart and managed to do ok with theirs (though still corrupt as fuck, could've done better). White countries, like the US and Canada did the smart thing: they kept it, and they manage everyone else's oil stash, that's why they rule. Now, venezuelans also found themselves on top of black gold, and what they did with it was socialism.

I say this as a latino, though not a venezuelan: Chavez was actually a good guy. One of the few guys who got to rule a country that truly loved his country and his people. But Chavez was dumb as fuck, which brings me to socialism. In his version of it, all his citizens were to be taken care of, because they were loved. If they worked, they'd get rewarded. They'd have pensions, they'd have medical coverage for everything. They'd have unemployment bennefits, long ass paid maternity leave, free schools, free college, cheap food and rent, art would be stimulated and rewarded, uniqueness and heart were to be appreciated and valued qualities by his goverment because that's how a president loves his citizens, he thought. Sounds awesome, right? But you see, while the sandniggers bought golden cars, fancy ass biuldings, the 2022 world cup, the venezuelans bought socialism and entitlement. And none of that entitlement shit is free.

>>678157389
The problem with entitlement is that it's unsustainable. What's worse, it just made his people demand more. It's surprising how quickly people get used to good living (aka: black people protesting any stupid shit now because they've been given everything. It's munich). Last time I visited venezuela, around 2010, fried empanadas from street carts were worth about 15 US cents. Know why? The goverment was subsidizing them because his people loved empanadas and his people wanted tax dollars to subsidize empanadas. Needless to say, the venezuelan crisis, while precipitated by US policy, was brought upon itself by dumb ass money-wasting policies like this one as a result of ideology being used to govern instead of pragmatism and logic. It's happened before in Venezuela, and it's happening in the US in the shape of bernie supporters.

Free college, for instance, is subsidizing empanadas. Yes, we need educated citizens, but not everyone. We need plumbers and sewer workers and someone who cleans up our shit-stained hotel sheets. Nobody with a college degree is gonna do that shit. Not to mention the fact that having a college degree doesn't make you any more or less productive to your country. Art history students get a degree. Women's studies, dancing, this are all legit degrees and they're worthless. We don't need people studying Joan of Arc for a whole semester, we need motherfuckers designing more efficient solar energy cells and driverless cars. Subsidizing college for everyone is a disaster rooted solely on ideology and with no consideration about how it'd play out.

This is why Bernies Ideologies are dumb as fuck. They're based on our feelings of what's right and what's good. Wouldn't it be great if life was so and so? But it's not, real life doesn't work like that. The establishment knows this, thank god, and is making Hillary the next president. She's corrupt as fuck, but at least she's not a delusional fucking clown willing to subsidize empanadas.

Maybe if you were 18 or how about at least 30, you would have seen how inflation happens no matter what. Maybe you would have saw the median wage decrease by almost 30% during the bush era, while the cost of living went up almost 30%, creating a huge disparity of wealth in the middle and lower class families. This alone disproves your inflation is affected by wages. The money did go somewhere, it went into CEO pockets. During the same period, CEO and board member wages of companies on average went up nearly 700% on average, not counting the ludicrous bonuses they paid themselves. Take your "I'm an adult and I understand the economy" bullshit and shove it up your ass, you obviously don't know shit.

I manage commercial sales in auto parts. My delivery drivers and counter sales are part time and are paid minimum wage. It's a matter of coverage.
If corporate makes us cut hours to cover payroll % (part timers are given 15-30 hrs) then that means less people waiting on customers or slower deliveries. That equals corporate to expect salaried employees to cover the extra time at no additional pay and sell a higher amount of product.

>-Raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour makes it harder to employ young people therefore jobs are scarce

Good thing young people are all in school, the best and brightest being forwarded to doctorates. If you'd rather work straight out of mandatory schooling, surely you'd choose a practical skill to learn alongside your regular coursework. Most high schools offer employment and intern programs already along with engine shops(including welding training), greenhouses(complete with Future Farmers of America programming) and even JROTC(military courses), all of the above will aid in getting skilled work.

Those that choose an unskilled path, be it due to desire for alternative career paths or simply ennui, should still be able to save up and provide for themselves. If you'd like to save money, live inexpensively and work. It should be no more difficult than that.

To assume that adults would fight with children for the same jobs in a system where over fifty percent of all american workers make less than $30,000 USD is criminally leading, the redistribution of wealth must be forced.

Lemme put it like this:

If money goes in a circle, Where X is the population and Y is the Government, X fuels Y, and Y fuels X.

But, Y starts giving some of the money BACK to X, and telling X that it doesn't need to pay as much.

Eventually, Y will end up giving almost all of what it holds to X, and X won't be giving enough to Y to support what Y is giving X.

It'll either grind to a halt or just fuck everything up for a decade or so before coming back to the current situation.

I believe the ones who are graduating at the top of their class but can't afford college should be given a chance to go further. Problem is a "free ride" and scholarships aren't enough to satisfy room and board and text books. Not to mention the scholarship system is greatly skewed to help minorities applying for college.

Also seriously, one text book being $150 is insane, given the college professors get vetted by the text book companies to pushed to use the newest ones so students can't use used books from previous semesters is plain wrong. There are kick backs happening here. Very unfair.

You obviously know nothing about the religion if you think ISIS is a 'pure' form of Islam.

Religion in general produces dangerous ideologies. Have you ever heard of the Salem witch trials? Christians gleefully burning dozens of people alive because of fear. Zealotry of all strips produces violence. Saying all Muslims are anything, or all Christians or all Buddhists are anything is an over generalization.

Christianity was just as dangerous as Islam once upon a time. More dangerous even.

If you're not afraid of terrorism then it shouldn't be a problem for you to let Muslims into the country. But you are, you have no other rational beyond: "Islam is dangerous."
