My dad gave me this one years ago, was one of my Grandpop's(who is still alive and well thankfully). It's an Explorer, Japanese stainless that actually holds a nice edge. Also have an older one from the 30s or so that I don't carry because I like it too much. Kind of a family heirloom too.

I carry a S&W SD9VE 16+1 in the chamber. No external safety. Yes I would draw it out to protect someone's life. Reason I carry this 9mm is because it's cheap got it for $320 a few years ago. Dont have to worry if I drop it or it gets scratched up. This pistol can chew up and spit out even the cheapest rounds you can find. Haven't had one miss fire. I really recommend it.
When I feel like open carrying I carry my 1911. It's a piece of art and it looks good on my waist. But I usually don't open carry. I like to conceal, doesn't freak people out.
