True. I've had a fiesta st 150, Clio 197 cup, polo gti, rented a corsage vxr twice and currently got 2nd fiesta st 2.0 but tuned to 200 bhp, all manuals. Was able to outrun a 3L BMW 1 series auto in the countryside around Alston uk in my st 150 (tight twisting roads).
Also, the fact I was in a lighter car designed to be thrown round corners at speed, and he had a heavier 3L cruiser helped. The gearbox isn't everything, but it helps alot to have manual.
