To me, Glenn died when he fell off the dumpster. I will not suspend my disbelief so hard that I can believe a guy at the bottom of a dogpile of zombies can somehow wiggle out, fit under a dumpster and hide there until they leave. It could not happen. There are no dumpsters that even have room for that even if he could have gotten under it.

There's no consistency, they forget previously developed plot points whenever they feel like it, they give guest characters backstory for absolutely no reason except to fill time and kill them the same episode they're introduced...you can go on and on. It is popular because it's violent and for some reason people can't get enough of zombies. The writing has always been and will continue to be awful.

Well lots of foreshadowing and clever call backs at least in the tv series, if you look at the small things. I also kinda just think the scale of the universe is interesting. Comunities get larger, and we're ramping up to the all out war story arc which is going to be cool. I agree with a lot of your points, but I believe its because of the inconsistency of the show runners. The comic series is very consistent.

This show is basically a made-for-TV-movie-tier romantic drama series, which happens to have zombies. Every single episode, some loud as fuck shambling zombie will somehow jump out and surprise one of the characters and go "Grwaaaghh!" and snap at the character a bit before it gets stabbed in the head by another character. That's the action scene. Then it's back to faggots discussing their feelings and being incompetent. Then a bit more action and a predictable cliff-hanger.
Every single week these faggots manage to get wrecked in some way or another. Death is around the corner for all of them, all the time, even though the zombies at this point are more like slightly inconvenient obstacles than deadly undead. All the characters should just kill themselves, because there is never any respite from the constant drama, except when the characters are fucking and/or eating apples. I realise there has to be drama to propel the story, but it's all so hamfisted at this point, it's like the writers just brainstorm ways to manipulate the emotions of teenagers and people who'll watch any drama series that features a scene with an emotional song while various characters look sad about the latest sad thing to happen. Which happens every other episode.
