Bernie seems sane enough, and the idea of raising taxes on the rich a little while cutting them for the poor seems like a fundamentally decent idea, since the rich can afford to pay more. Yeah, and the social issues questions don't provide any way to say "I believe this is wrong, but I don't want to ban it." Honestly the test isn't very good. I consistently rank much higher on the authoritarian scale by voting for personal beliefs than if I would by voting for what I believe should be public policy.

I'm only where I am on the scale because I answered the questions based on personal beliefs and not on policy preferences. If I ran it again and answered based on policy instead, I'd be deep purple (but unfortunately still not in the band). This test is hugely flawed, IMO, but it's still the best one on the 'net.
Also, as far as policy, I wouldn't be extreme libertarian, but I'm definitely on the libertarian wing of conservative. I do believe in strict laws and firm punishments, but I believe in fewer laws overall. I don't have a problem with executing murderers, but I do have a problem with being fined for lacking health insurance (and lots of other things, just picked the first decent example I could think of).

For the most part I like where this test puts different groups, at least in US politics. I'd move "progressive" where "liberal" is and replace "progressive" with "centrist" in its place. "Liberal" just isn't very descriptive.
