25 year old working man. Went to a uni, played some football. Furgled my elbow and said fuuck it and started working
>>

24 and still in college isn't a total failure. Failing out of college when you are 80% of the way through is a failure. As long as you finish it isn't a fail.

I had a friend who built up tons of student loan debt and then just decided to drop out his senior year of college. All that debt and nothing to show for it. Total fucking idiot. He tried to go back after a few years but they wouldn't admit him.

21. I was actually set to graduate two years early cause I came in with a shit ton of credits, but I ended up staying in a worthless biology program because I don't know what else to do.
>>
engineering
>>
>>677377879
Biology is kind of a dead end unless you enjoy working in a lab for mediocre wages. But you could switch to pre-pharmacy and take almost all the same classes. Pharmacists make good money.

But I've heard it is getting to be a very saturated market. Hard to get a job. But making $100,000+ to fill bottles with pills is a dream job.

20 studying chemEng. It's difficult, but pretty fun. I enjoy it.

I'm 25 and still no college.

Tell me...

If I go in a couple years how's it gonna be for me with girls?

Is it gonna be easy or awkward? I don't drink and am a bit awkward personality wise.

I have money and nice cars and shit though. Will this help me?
>>
>>677380800
Ditch that degree you will be working fast food before you ever get a good paying job in IT with no experience and that degree. If you're serious about the IT field go for cyber security/information security.

From someone with 14 years working in the information systems field. I wouldn't higher you until you've at least 3 to 4 years experience. My smallest network has been 120 client terminals and my largest 3500 clients in 14 different countries.

CIS minor is for resume padding more than anything else, plus it actually interests me. I can get a paid programming internship next year, there are always companies hiring

>>677382103
I got hired at the first job that I applied to, is the discrepancy between CS that big, or am I just lucky?

Programing sucks. You'll want to suckstart a .45 after a year or two. Just read Dilbert that's about 99% of your bosses.

>>677381904
Girls like older guys. You aren't in your 30's so you will be fine. As long as you are in decent shape, have decent hygiene, and have a decent fashion sense you will be able to fuck tons of chicks if you want to.
>>
>>677382839
Lucky and they probably are looking for long term development of you. I make upwards of 150k a year as a CS manager.
>>
>>677383170
I enjoy it quite a bit, and I can actually work with people unlike most of /b/

>>
>>677384465
where'd you go?
also, gratz on getting sum
>>
>>677383762
Well that's one thing I will say if you work in the field and have the ability to be a social person and not a creepy/socially awkward person and have good hygiene you have a good chance to get and keep a decent job and enjoy it. I had a guy who was a great technician but was a rude and condescending prick. I would make sure and give him the tasks away from other people. He had a big ego about it thinking that he was the best in the company. I ended up taking him down several pegs by making him do help desk and tossing new guys on the harder tasks not only did the work get done but it was done faster. He ended up quitting after several incidents... 6 years that guy worked there and he couldn't understand why I was placed in charge of him being about 25 years younger then him and after only working there for 18 months. Itwas simple I performed and am able to motivate and keep the systems secure and running.
