Oh the tire is definitely fucked. Limped it along for several miles so I wouldn't have to pay for towing
>>
>>677322287
no. it's done. even if you take a hammer to it back out, there's no guarantee that it will not be rippled or round, and to get it to a machine shop that could get it straight will cost you way way way more than what the rim is worth.
>>
You'll never get the bead to seat on that rim. Even if you did it will be so out of balance you'll feel like youre driving down a road of endless speed bumps
>>
>>677324036
Put a circle on the inside in paint or whaever, and see how even the inside of the rim is bent to fuck.
>>
>>677322287
Oh fer corn's sake! Google "alloy wheel repair" and your town and see what you get. I had a friend in that business and he could repair wheels that had chunks torn out of them. Also hit up junkyards. It may be cheaper to just buy a used one.
>>
>>677322287
no rim ain't not fixable, just melt it and mold it back to its form,

it looks like it costs $40 you cheap fuck

Upon second look, that thing is steel. Probably cheaper to replace it, but it is repairable.

You won't anywhere with this
Is it carbon steel ?
I can't find specific terms about steel in english, but there are lots of information missing to really repair it.
>>
>>677325857
Jeez, just hit the yards then. The better junkyards have an interchange service so they can search nationwide for it.
>>
>>677326100
These steel rims aren't that expensive. A new one would maybe cost like 20% more than a used one. And you can get a new one far more easily.

The bead can be bent back into shape but no amount of balancing will fix the resulting vibration.

You will need a new wheel and tire.
>>
>>677322287
It's 'fixable' but it still would be a sitty wheel.
Just buy a used one somewhere. It's an Opel rim. Plenty of them around for a few bucks. Tire is fucked though and since it's 3 years old you might wanna get 2 if it has some milage
>>

Wouldn't you want to have a tire for it and have the tire on the rim as fast as possible. All you get here is the rim.

You're fucked.
>>
>>677322287
It's fucked. You can try hammering it back carefully without breaking it but good fuckin luck getting the bead to seal
>>
>>677322751
Nothing to do with structural integrity and everything to do with making the seal. The edge of the rim does nothing for structural integrity.
>>
>>677324036
And instead of paying for towing you pay for rim.
>>
>>677322287
Had a similar situation a while ago, tho it was only bent in one place. Took it to a body shop that was recommended to me, they fixed it within the hour. It is not a long term fix, as it will remain weak at that spot, so will at some point need a new wheel, but it works fine.
>>
>>677332509
Lol wut
>>
Didn't read what anyone else in the thread said because I've got shit to do. I.E. go lookin at porn while singing Negro Spirituals.

But the answer is yes, you can fix it. But it won't be fixed for long. It could last for a couple of years or a couple of hours depending on the luck of the draw. Basically the seal/bead is fucked now that the rim is warped. Also regardless of how perfectly you can hammer it all back in place you're always going to get wobble on that particular wheel now. It'll wear your tires out super fast and could potentially cause a catastrophic blowout that'll more than likely fuck you up.

Your best bet is to get a new one.

Since its a steelie. Suure. Just heat it and whack it with a hammer. Fixed.

>>677330906
>Rust is for suckers who don't buy a new car after 10 years

Attempting to reuse a rim that damaged is nigger as driving on a space saver spare until it's bald.
>>
>>677333205
anyone who says it can be "fixed" is wrong. get yourself on ebay and get a replacement wheel - then a tyre. you ignorant stupid fuck. i hate myself that i have answered this bait. FFS
>>
>>677322287
fixable? yes.
but why? it's a $19 steel rim, repairing it would cost at least two or three times that.
>>
>>677333790
what the fuck are you talking about?
>>
>Pontiac G6

Take car to a scrap yard and get your $130 in scrap value for it. That's your best option.

>>
>>67732746
Did the world get so overly concerned with certifications and qualifications that tyre fitters now have pieces of paper to prove that they made poor life choices?
>>
>>677322287

The metal could be pounded back into its original shape, but it has lost its integrity and would require a very expencive procedure to be REALLY fixed. Several times the cost of a new one of those cheap rims.
>>
>>677332509
it will fucking bend more once put under a load
>>
>>677334715
