OP here

>how often do you play?
About once every two weeks

>did you visit the prerelease? If so, how did you do, any good pulls?
Went 2/0/1. Got a few good rares and mythics, the rest is junk.

>what is your alltime favourite card?
Parasitic Strix (pic related)

>favourite format and why?
Modern, because it is(was) a diverse and interesting format.

>how do you feel about the new standard rules?
Think it will create a more diverse gme, but up the price quite a bit.

>how much money do you think you have spent on MTG?
Maybe about 350$
>>
>how often do you play?
Mostly online but at least one match a day. Multiple formats.

>did you visit the prerelease? If so, how did you do, any good pulls?
I'm going to one in a couple hours. Hopefully get some good stuffs.

>what is your alltime favourite card?
Karn Liberated cause it's a really interesting card. Colorless planeswalker is gud.

>favourite format and why?
Limited because I suck at constructed. :(

>how do you feel about the new standard rules?
What new standard rules?

>how much money do you think you have spent on MTG?
A few thousand over 5 years.

With the shortening of sets (going from 3 to 2 blocks) and the elimination of core sets, they also decided to shorten the cycle of wich the cards rotate out.

>how often do you play?
Once a week maybe with friends

>did you visit the prerelease? If so, how did you do, any good pulls?
Yeah, came a solid last at 0/0/6, got a mythic and few solid rares

>what is your alltime favourite card?
Yavimaya enchantress, if in the right deck

>favourite format and why?
draft or closed deck

>how do you feel about the new standard rules?
Seems to speed up the game

>how much money do you think you have spent on MTG?
Less that £100, filthy casual reporting in
>>
>how often do you play?
a couple of times a month with friends, and then prereleases
>did you visit the prerelease? If so, how did you do, any good pulls?
went with my brother to a 2 headed giant event and we went 5-1, best pull money wise: thing in the ice
>what is your alltime favourite card?
Malignus / Gisela can't decide
>favourite format and why?
EDH/commander - cube - prerelease
>how do you feel about the new standard rules?
don't give a fuck
>how much money do you think you have spent on MTG?
total 2000$ i think
>>
Got shit pulls last night, ended up with an okay draft deck, 3-2 and one of the losses was the to land fuck after mulling to 5 or I would be had the game easy.
Still pretty salty tbh.
>>
Guys, need some help. Almost everyone in my prerelease playgroup got our prerelease promos crimped at the bottom (pic related). Did anyone of you experience the same, or was it just our particullar batch of packs that was fucked?

Also, how does this affect the legality and worth of a card? In sleeves the crimp isn't noticable. Also i have read that sometimes crimped cards can be worth more than the initial price.
>>
I don't play any more and have a ton of rare cards.

What's the best place to sell them?
>>
>>677303194
>MTGcardmarket.com
and
>MagicCardMarket.eu

Depending on where you live
>>
What should I buy if I want to get into the game quickly and be up to date with other players?

As a beginner would I have a good time at a friday night magic?
>>
>how often do you play?
Pretty rarely sadly. Don't get to see friends often enough and I don't have a LGS within 45 minutes.

>did you visit the prerelease? If so, how did you do, any good pulls?
Pre-release went bad. My pulls were shit pulling a lot of unplayable rares (Harness the Storm and Altered Ego for two examples). I had a good time though. It convinced me not to buy a box of this set though.

>what is your alltime favourite card?
Geist of Saint Traft

>favourite format and why?
Modern but even that has gotten pretty stale anymore.

>how do you feel about the new standard rules?
If you mean the new rotation rules, I think they're bullshit and leads to worse inflation of cards in standard which I figured would happen but I'm not sure how much of that could be equated to fetches being in atm or if Jace is actually considered THAT good.

If you want to have a truly basic entry into the game, intro packs are a good pick. They easily showcase different strategies, and are often a good starting point for new players to building their first own deck by simply upgrading the cards in them. Intro packs however are not competetive, since they consist of mostly commons and uncommons. If you want a more competitive experience, an event deck is a good option. These are a bit more pricey, but contain a lot of more competetive and powerfull cards, that give you a good chance of winning a few games.

WotC has also published a few MTG computergames that teach the basics of magic pretty well. I reccommend either Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 or 2014. Everything after that is just crap (especially the free one, trust me)

Hope this helped :)

considering that madness is a thing, I would say that his price will go up veeery much
>>
>>677304591
Thanks a lot dude. I'll look into getting an event deck. Is it worth getting a deckbuilder's toolkit ( like the new shadows of innistrad one) or is that a bit far end ofr my level?

I'll look into the mtg video games too, thanks a lot.

>how often do you play?
A few times a week

>did you visit the prerelease? If so, how did you do, any good pulls?
I play online so I'm still waiting on the prerelease

>what is your alltime favourite card?
Tooth and Nail. It's fun to build a mana ramping deck around

>favourite format and why?
Modern. There are so many interesting cards/interactions to work with. Standard is getting expensive to keep up with since they shortened blocks/rotation.

>how do you feel about the new standard rules?
Idk wtf you're talking about

>how much money do you think you have spent on MTG?
Probably about $3k since I started playing around the time Onslaught was released.

The deckbuilders toolkit is in my opinion only worth if you are so new that you don't have enough lands to compose a deck. It probably wont give you enough cards for a viable standard deck. However if you also like the collection aspect of MTG, you get alot of cards at once, soooo youll have to see for yourself
>>
>>677305326
How do you ramp into using this card early? Seems painfully slow to me

>how often do you play?
Once maybe twice a week. 4-10 hours.
>did you visit the prerelease? If so, how did you do, any good pulls?
No
>what is your all time favourite card?
Prophet of kruphix
>favourite format and why?
Edh. I like large decks, slow games, and many different cards.
>how do you feel about the new standard rules?
Dont care
>how much money do you think you have spent on MTG?
way too fucking much. I have insurance on my collection. Started in 4th ed, played hard until mirroden/darksteel, quit for a time. Came back for lor/morningtide quit right before the best set ever (zendikar block) and came back right after that block crying about how much money i missed out on.
>>
>>677307670
what do you think about the banning of prophet of kruphix in commander?
>>
I have shoe boxes of these cards in the attic somewhere. Probably 15+ years old. Think they're worth anything?
>>
>>677308035
Other anon here.
Vanning of Prophet was understandable but not without also banning metal worker (who was unbanned recently) or seedborn muse or every tutor in the format, since prophet wasn't strong or busted by herself (which is the main reason cards get banned in EDH) it's highly debateable if the ban was justified.
>>
>>677308291
Might be, but most likely not. If you're lucky, a handfull of cards will be worth the same as the rest., depending on the rarity
>>
>how often do you play?
weekly at my LGS and often with some friends
>did you visit the prerelease? If so, how did you do, any good pulls?
nope
>favourite format and why?
EDH and Pauper. EDH is slow and social, Pauper is cheap.
>how do you feel about the new standard rules?
New rules? They're new I guess...
>how much money do you think you have spent on MTG?
Too much, probably around €300
