The theme I'm using is the first one and too add a mascot click on mascot followed by add mascot on the bottom left of the floating settings.
Hover over the image subspace and hold shift and then click,once prompted you can add any image
side note: do not add gif or google chrome will crash until you shut it down and you do it again

Once april fools is gone you can take off the filter and switch to this other black theme they have on the settings making everything black so you won't have to hurt your eyes
Or you can try 4chan x instead of appchan which makes everything look a lot more cleaner, you can see deleted images and improve performance by loading everything quicker
