You are a kobold. You are small, flexible, nimble and rather stealthy when you want to be. On the other hand you are naïve, not very strong, kind of a pushover and generally not very good in a fight.
The world is mostly predominated with humans, who see you as a lesser species. Kobolds officially have no rights, so the sight of one of your kind getting raped, beaten or even killed in broad daylight is unfortunately for you not so uncommon.
Luckily, you have managed to avoid the worst thus far, by making your home in the outstretched woods surrounding the human capital. Many beasts lurk here, including dragons and feral animals of all kinds. There are even some rumors of a hulking mass of tentacles skulking through the darkness, violating whoever it gets in its grip.
Ontop of the feral dangers, there are various bands of bandits which have made these woods their home. They pry on unsuspecting victims, to rob them from their riches, their purity, their life or perhaps even all three.

As you are surveying your surroundings, all the wildlife suddenly goes silent. You hear a dog bark, and then a rush of footsteps. “The tracks lead over here!” a masculine voice shouts. A party of humans, accompanied by a tracking hound rush into the clearing. This must be the band you robbed earlier.
“Hm. The trail suddenly ends here. Where the hell did that thief go? When I catch him, I’ll wring his neck with my bare hands!”
You are scared shitless. The sun is completely down. The humans’ torches illuminate the nearby surroundings. They have not noticed you yet. There are five of them, plus the dog.

The humans investigate the area, splitting up to comb out the immediate environment. A single man stays behind. He's kneeled, investigating the tracks on the ground. You might have a chance to sneak away now, or you could just stay put and hope for the best.
The branch you're sitting on is starting to feel somewhat unstable. While you're by no means heavy, you failed to notice the termites crawling all over this tree in particular while climbing up. You don't think it'll last more than a few minutes.

You pass two humans without ease. They fail to see your tiny frame hiding in a dark bush. Your sight is gradually getting better, your eyes acclimating to the darkness.
Just as you think you're in the clear, a loud growling fills your ears. In front of you is the humans' dog, a large German Shepherd. If it barks, it'll alert all of the humans.

A loud whine permeates the area. Slowly, you open your eyes. You managed to hit the dog right between the eyes. The animal has slumped down to the ground. While not dead yet, it won't live for much longer.
You feel bad for striking down someone's pet, but it was him or you. You get the hell out of there as fast as you can. You forget to recover your arrow. You have 25 left. You are a bit more familiar with archery now.

You quickly check your arm. It doesn't seem to be all that bad, just bruised from the bow string. You won't let that happen again. While it's no immediate danger to your health, if someone grabs your arm in combat, it will be very painful.
You take a sip of water from the river. Healthy spring water. You feel slightly reinvigorated.
You place all your belongings on the ground, checking to make sure nobody is around before undoing your chest-wrap, and slowly slipping out of your loincloth. You are now completely naked. A small breeze sends shivers down your spine.
