It honestly just comes down to practicing, like with anything. You can try emulating certain authors you like, and that'll help you with word choice and styling, but to really improve at storycrafting or organizing your thoughts, there's no substitute for practice. The important thing is to not criticize yourself, not while you're writing at least. Because your shit will suck at first, I guarantee it. In fact, you'll probably always think your shit sucks, and wonder why anyone would want to read it. But that's a good thing, because as long as you know *why* you think your shit sucks, you can improve it. As long as you can make your next story suck less than your last one, you're doing fine.

I have a knack for strategy, tactics, and planning. I currently use my talents for a government agency tackling the cyberwarfare problem.
Technical writing and public speaking are some tertiary skills I've picked up in my career that have gone a long way towards solidifying my talents as a strategist/tactician. I don't think a person can be one without some kind of proficiency in both. No one will take your consultations seriously.
Side hobbies I have are designing tabletop games, story telling, and trolling 4chan.
My talents have taken me from a homeless 20 something to middle class in 6 years, and I'm looking to progress further in the next few years by moving from government work into the private sector.
No college degree btw, very fortunate to have understood the financial death trap the US education system has become and was able to carve a career out of the skills, experience, and knowledge I already had.

Holy shit m8. Are you me? The outcome difference is that I speak three languages. I literally create 3D models for a living, as well as some graphic design on the side, yet can't draw for shit. The amount of "drawing for dummies" type books I have though is insane.
There is nothing that I have a talent for. I am above average in a number of things, but not one could be considered at talent level.
It never use to bother me until I found out that my younger brother brother is me, but better than me in everything I excel at.
I can notice small and minute details that most other people can't. I turn my anger into determination to do what I want. I am mentally and emotionally tough, and I can adapt easily. I play guitar, acoustic and electric. Also Ukelele and piano. I can talk some mean trash on people too lmao

I did start a book some time ago.
