So what's the deal with you Americans becoming more and more socialists? Do you really think America needs to be more like Europe in any way? Which one? I'm an Eurofag and I can't fucking understand it.
>>
>>676525299
I'm a eurofag too, just like you.. I would like to know the answer too
>>
>>676525490

>>

Ausfag here. Seems that's what they want.

They've got socialism on one side and national socialism on the other.

I believe America needs to be more like Europe. In the Eastern-Euro fashion of "Fuck all the niggers and rapeugees"

>totally not a trump retard bait
>>
>>676525299
There are around 300 million people in the US. We don't all want anything. If we did (in my ideal fantasy world) it would be to gun down Donald Trump due to the actually life threatening stupidity he seems to be capable of.
>>
>>676525601
"no, we are not socialists, we are democratic and liberals"... and then they tax your ass up to the throat. Believe me, in Europe this is our daily bread.
>>
really bernie is IMO a idealist. Sounds good, but the likelihood of him being able to accomplish even a fraction of it is unlikely. He was extremely unsuccessful as a senator in terms of putting something up and actually getting it to fruition.
>>
>>676525850
So you are why they needs guns at Trump rallies?
>>
>>676526067
Sure, that's clearly the case.

I voted for Bernie Sanders in my state's primary. His economic and foreign policies are mocked constantly. But honestly I could give less of a shit about any of that. Every President tries to put their spin on the USA and leave their mark. They all fuck up. Bernie would too. But the number one reason I voted for him is that he actually gives a shit about climate change. Nobody else on any ticket has mentioned it at all.
>>
>>676525299
He wants to be president. He's making promises he wont keep.
So he promises anything so he can to sound good.
The sheep love it.
>>
OP here. My point is that you are one of the few countries that still have pro-small government candidates, people who don't talk about what needs to be done, but what needs to be left to the people. There's no such thing in Europe and there won't be in probably hundreds of years. Why do you want to lose that?
>>
>>676525299
There are things that are American in nature I don't think we'd tolerate giving up. Guns for example are popular and restrictions on firearms is a huge uphill battle. Things like universal Healthcare though attract a good number of us. Certain social programs are popular because the middle class is getting decimated and purchasing power is getting reduced. When the middle class can no longer afford reasonable private health care or can't afford to send their kids off to college or buy a house. The country inevitably looks to places where these things aren't issues.
>>
>>676525299
Most of us don't like it, but since we no longer have a voice in politics of our country there is nothing we can do.
>>
>>676526581
Because the people in this country are fucking retarded.
>>
>>676526634
That's a huge appealist I think for Bernie, the fact that he doesn't take money. Say what you will about his policies. He isn't bribed at least.
>>
>>676525299
Bernie is a cuck.
>>
>>676525299
Bernie is popular, and his policies are very European.

But it's important to remember that he has a snowball's chance in hell of winning the Presidency. We're more likely going to end up with Trump or Hillary, both of whom would be a continuation of the bullshit we've been subject to for the past collection of decades.
>>
>>676526384
I will get right on that....doh I forgot if I got close I would double over due to the disconnected spoiled aroma/gas combo that I'm assuming surrounds him. I said ideal "fantasy" as in the only thing worse then that cartoon character becoming president would be throwing away my life just to make a martyr out of him or something.

>>

He's a cuck that couldn't even protect his mic from a raging nigress. The guy is a freaking SJW.
>>
>>676526840
The important thing is the tendency. It would've been impossible for a self-proclaimed socialist to be a candidate 15 years ago. Now people is not afraid of socialists anymore. Socialism is gradually becoming an option in America, and that's not good.
>>
>>676527154
He knows how to pick his battles. If he had thrown them out of his rally, he probably wouldn't have been in a position to take his campaign this far in the first place. He's not impervious to media scrutiny like Trump, so he actually has to be intelligent.
>>
>>676527130
Yeah, but since they already gave "representation" with the first ever black president, this time no matter what the people want, they're going to put in Hillary so they can also give "representation" with the first ever female president. And maybe next will be a tranny president.
>>
>>676525299
op is just stupid
>>
>>676527233
But if the people choose socialism, it really doesn't fucking matter what everyone outside the US thinks. In a democracy, even a social one, the people's choice is paramount. Every successful socialist nation CHOSE socialism.
>>
>>676525299
if you´re a eurofag you would know that the majority of european countries isn´t governed by socialist parties at the very moment. But who cares about facts? Such as that socialist ideology is about giving and carring. You not that´s for sure.
>>
>>676527326
He's a coward. Not to mention his ideas are just going to sink the economy even more. Sorry, but he wouldn't make a good president. Same goes for Hillary and Trump. Hillary is a cunt while Trump is just using the elections as a publicity stunt. There's no way he's going to keep his promises if he were to win, and even then, his ideas could also end up ruining the economy. These elections are literally "pick your poison".

This. Bernie needs to run very carefully. His strategy vs Trumps strategy are vastly different. He needs to run his campaign with a scalpel. Trump started with a hatchet.

Reminder that "small government" when spoken of by the establishment is neoliberal code for minimizing social spending as much as possible, privatizing anything that's public, and deregulating multinational corporations. The goal that seems to be working in large numbers this election cycle is to make you think that freedom of big business from taxes and freedom of individuals from the corrupt government boogeyman go hand in hand. Simple fact is that influence from big money interests is the exact cause of our government being the way it is today.

A coward wouldn't confront Wall Street as he has. A coward wouldn't even acknowledge the slew of issues our nation has, like high incarceration rate, high child poverty, low education, high un-employment, etc. A good leader says what's not popular.

Also, there's little to no evidence that his policies would detriment the economy. Because even the best economists in the universe can't predict the fucking future.

I'd agree with that. I've lived in the US and the UK, people in the states will vote republican simply because they always have, people will vote lib because they always have. They don't research, they don't consider their best option. They talk about Freedom like they're the only nation in the world that has it, yet they don't excercise that freedom to make valid and intelligent voting choices. As it stands, they're obsessed with the ideas that the government will tax without representation (hurr hurr, yeah okay.) or they'll take their guns. Neither of which is going to happen. What I think IS a good thing to consider, is free college level education for those that meet the criteria for it, because so many folks in the states don't even know how the fuck their tax system, how their 401K's work, hell they don't do anything but spend. Free health care is something you guys desperately need. I have a relative living stateside who had to go to the hospital for a simple procedure that ended up costing something like $10,000 for a single xray, three nights in the hospital and an ambulance ride- this was after insurance deductions. What the fuck is free about worrying about paying medical bills that could bankrupt you? It's the number one cause of suicide and divorce in the country, medical bankruptcy is a fucking joke.

Everyone already knows those are issues in this country, but he's going around claiming there's other issues that don't even exist. He thinks that all black people that have been shot by cops are all a result of racism, and he believes in the stupid gender wage gap, which has been debunked many times. And if you want evidence of why his ideas would fail, it's easy to look up. There's plenty of sources going around which point out why his ideas will just make things worse.

Sanders tax plan has actually been published under medicare for all on his website, but as we all know republicans like to close their eyes. It's sees increase of around 5-6% on middle earners, but of course they get a lot back including healthcare.

Plus I prefer his foreign policy and the fact he isn't the only candidate representing billionares. And of course, unlike Trump he can string a sentence together.

There seems to be this perception that scandinavian nations are useless because they've got immigration issues. That's an EU problem, not a Scandinavian problem. Every EU member state has an issue with outside immigrants. I've visited Denmark, Sweden and Norway, all of which have excellent healthcare, excellent dental care, excellent education systems, fantastic wage and retirement schemes, fuck the streets were so clean you could eat off of them. They have national pride comparative to the US, flages absolutely everywhere, people on the outside looking in that have no idea what they're talking about. Just for clarification, Swedens government for the past however many decades was socialist, the country grew year on year, until recently where they've elected some right wing fucktard. Much like the national deficit in the US rising every time they elect republitards.

Except he isn't asking for 90% of income. And he isn't asking to increase taxes on people who make under $250,000.

See, I don't get this. The United States went through _exactly_ the same scenario we are now back in the 1900s: Oligarchs pretty much owned all news media and politicians. The American population was getting shit on. Working conditions were in the absolute toilet for the vast majority of the people here. Then shit started to change. People got sick of this shit, but it wasn't until the Great Depression happened that people started to seriously take a look.

What Sanders is talking about is giving the vote BACK to you, OP. He's talking about getting big money out of politics, he's talking about the rich and super rich paying their fair share. WHY do you think it's OK for you and me to be effectively paying 20% of our income in taxes and health care coverage, but the wealthiest portion of our country often pays as little as 4-5%? For me, paying $400 every month for health care coverage is huge! For me, having my paycheck reduced from $6000/mo to $4000 a month is a big deal. But if I was making $6,000,000 a month (something yeah, those super rich DO), I could afford to have that taken down to a "measly" $4,000,000 a month. Somehow I'd, you know, make due. Those rich aren't "job creators". They horde their money and sit on it.

So really, why do YOU think you don't deserve a fair shake?

Americans sure do love political buzzwords.

As far as I can tell, the vast majority of them use the words wrong, too. Oftentimes completely wrong and on the other end of their intended spectrum. So my impression is that Americans just sort of love labels more than is really necessary.

They love them so much that once they start identifying with certain labels, they refuse to let them go when they have completely moved on from their actual fucking meaning.

Also they love to hate labels, especially labels that oppose the ones they identify with, and I don't know if it started with the whole COMMIES VS DEMOCRACY bullshit, but they just love that shit so much. Their entire political system is based around labels and making shit up, then getting mad at other labels while almost every. single. person ignores actual reality.

As someone who is actually a socialist, Bernie Sanders is not a socialist.

But the reason I would support him is this:
A President's ability to shape domestic policy is comparatively minor. A President's ability to shape foreign policy is major-bordering-on-extreme.

Sanders is better on foreign policy than Trump or Clinton is, even though his domestic policy positions are wacky.

And anyway, I'd rather him tax the rich at 90% than I would Trump build a damn wall or Hillary take my guns away.

They always did stuff with their window open and i could HEAR them and watch them late at night from the bathroom window while i sat and peed and played with my clit & turned on the light so they could SEE me masturbate and watch me have an orgasm and HEAR my panting and my gasps and my cum noises with my legs open and my fingers pumping in and out and rubbing my clit and standing up and arching my pelvis at them and out the window so i could be seen from the street below by the rusty nail boys on their stolen rent-a-bikes, ridding from the park at 3 in the mornig after smoking drone delivered pot and getting high on blue-jean pocket-masturbation while sitting on their bikes and watched me pee out the window into the driveway before it rains in the morning and my dad gets up early to walk the dog and sometimes he catchs me do it openly, but watever, he ain't gunna tell mom. nice dubs

american politics has always been right wing compared to european. the Democrat party is more rightwing than the British Conservative party

now are you concerned that their policies are becoming more left wing? (womens reproductive rights, same sex marriages, environmental protection etc) or that they are becoming more economically left wing? (increased social spending on healthcare, education and community projects, higher minimum wages, stronger workers unions etc etc)

or is it the whole shebang that concerns you?

Initially, they may have earned their bottom line. No one is contesting that. The problem is, the super-rich minority capitalism created are no longer doing their part to keep the American economy healthy. They outsource, evade taxes, and cut jobs to save money with impunity. Price-gouging also goes massively unpunished. That is demonstrably unethical on a large scale.

You don't even grasp the concept of taxation I see. Think of it this way. 1/2 people will be affected by cancer in their lifetimes. Cancers that can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to treat. You survive the cancer but medical care isn't free. $750,000 drives you to an early grave anyway.

The issue is lack of big picture. Yanks are obsessed with immediate. It is evident in their portions, in their excessive natures, they don't think of tomorrow, they think "Hold on, this morning I had ten apples, but the government took away two. I wanted ten fucking apples to make my big apple pie dessert for after tonights dinner. Cunts." not about where those apples went.

What if he has five kids? All of them want to go to college, one of thems an art major (eugh) and one of them is a sociology major (lel) but the other three? They study engineering, physics and medical sciences. How much do you think that would cost him? Think before you fucking speak. NOTHING is free. But under Bernies policies it is FREE-ER.

Hurr. If you want to keep what you kill, go live in the fucking woods.

Sanders is the only candidate that even has the potential to change America in any noticeable way for the better. Trump and Hillary are so similar to the status quo that nothing will change at all, working people will still be shit on and the entire economy will still be run by big business interests. Sanders is the only candidate that actually wants to make changes to the issues that actually are important to normal working people in America. Education, wages, everyday living conditions, medical cover. He's the only candidate that even has a serious desire to dismantle the oligarchy and bring the power back to the people. Providing everyday citizens with these basic things at minimal cost is the best way to achieve economic growth in the long term future. The trickledown effect has been proven to be bullshit. Can he do all of this? Probably not. But at least he will try. Trump will waste all the money on stupid fucking things like building a wall. Not to mention that he really doesn't even have any concrete policies on important issues. Hillary is in the pockets of the big banks and cuckservative politicans. Sanders is literally the only one that stands to make any noticeable positive difference.

The welfare system in the states is as abysmally bad as your banking systems and your education systems (wtf even is common core?) are. Honestly, the whole thing needs to be rebuilt. There will ALWAYS be people sponging, but the concept of designing a system that is harder to abuse? That's what you need. You need government employees helping you find work, ensuring you're actually LOOKING, not sat at home abusing the system. In the UK, if we don't prove we're looking for work, they can literally stop paying us welfare, we have nothing. You are expected to. Sure there are still people who BS the system, but compared to the states? Nah, not even worried. It's because your system is as archaic as still using fucking checks, swipe and sign instead of PIN on your banking cards, believing angels are real. I mean come the fuck on.

When you work your way up a big business, you learn quickly how things work around there. You don't stir the pot, you don't get preachy and sanctimonious, you do your job, you fuck your competition, you make the deals and cut spending without remorse. That's how you get promoted, and that's how you take over in the end.

Manipulation is almost baseline required to get anywhere in such a soulless industry. Yeah it isn't illegal a lot of the time, because they created the loopholes to exploit and bribed the officials to make it come to pass.

So we get college level education for free? That will be community college. Not a private university. So maybe $2000 a year or a little more. But all the people are bitching about coming out of college and not making any $$ so why is it even necessary....

Free healthcare? I don't see that working out. They couldn't even get Obamacare going in the right direction and that was just standardized and discounted.

Completely revamping the water and electrical infrastructure. You must have learned how easy that would be in College.

In the end, I just see Bernie costing me a shit ton of money to send worthless fucks to school and the dr because their parents were too lazy to make their own life. If he puts EVERYTHING he says he will into action, there might be some small benefits. But like people have said, Bernie is an idealist and there is nothing in life that ever ends up ideal.

the only solution is to abolish taxes and privatize EVERYTHING.

i want to pay to send my kids to the best school. i want to pay for my medication. i want our army to consist purely of mercenaries that we choose to pay or not; but if we dont pay then we shouldnt start crying when said mercs turn up to my house to rape my wife and daughters. which is why we should all be allowed guns. all the guns. furthermore the justice system would work so much better if privatized: if you pay you get out of jail: same system as we have now but with less hypocrisy. if you want pothole free roads, you pay. if you want money saved away for when you are too old to work, you pay.

maybe create some sort of mega corporation that looks after all these things, give it erm a flag with a logo and pay it an annual subscrption fee or something. call it Unified Solidated Associates or something and there you go.

thats the world i want to live in.

Obamacare was heavily restricted. It doesn't, though.

Because it's "take 36% of our income, spend 10x that amount on the hospitals we took it for, still have a worse standard of care and also be bankrupt so we need to keep sponging money for the service from other channels".

Everyone says "it works" except then how come when your wealthy and/or famous get sick and need treatment they come to US hospitals, which are the best on the planet, to see specialists? Because the best doctors don't want to work for shitwage in the overfunded-yet-somehow-always-struggling NHS, so you're stuck with month-long wait times and overworked 3rd-tier doctors.

The US system isn't even bad; if you compare INSURED US citizens' standards of care and cost of care to European national health systems, we come out ahead. Our numbers are skewed down by those too irresponsible to purchase health insurance (and yes, it IS about being irresponsible, because there are low-income health insurance systems for those who cannot afford insurance or lose their jobs if their insurance was a benefit there, etc). So what, we need to reinvent our system of healthcare to babysit those people who are too shortsighted to believe they could ever get sick and instead keep that $200/mo in-pocket?

Hello from every other modern western nation in the world.

We still have private universities for the 'elite' to send their kids. We still have private medical care that people can choose to undertake. These things didn't just disappear. But the public versions and the private, have to adhere to the base principles. The public is just free. The elites wanted to feel special, private health and universities cropped up. Supply/Demand. Economics 101. Make the elites feel special.

There is a lack of desire to open your eyes, ever present. That is my one issue with Americans.

>>676532455
The 2 solutions I see to this are
1. Stop keeping uninsured citizens from dying when they inevitably let a healthcare problem grow out of hand
2. Have a NHS that lets those people see a doctor when they're sick because it ends up costing us more in the long run when we let people end up in the emergency room

So basically, I need to go for an x-ray, I need a picture of my ribcage because I might have a shadow on my lung. The NHS fast tracks me, I get my x-ray back the following day while sitting in a hospital bed, sipping OJ.

>elites knew the public versions were shit, thats why they went private

I get the same shit in a private clinic, but they bring me a glacial water, with a slice of lemon. "Ahh, privelage. White pride motherfucker..."

And if you wanna get ass-slammed on your neo-Lenin ideals, we can go over the Chinese healthcare system. Faggot.

Hard to recognize a post like this as humor when this is actually a growing sentiment in the United States right now. Shitbags like Rato Cruz want people to believe the problem in the U.S. is with big government interference, when the situation we actually face is one where career politicians and government agencies owned by or colluding with big business interests actively direct our government to deregulate trade, cut social spending, and buy up the public sector (at a profit, of course) to the point where they literally have decisive power over everything America does.
>>
>>676533158
Those are all private universities that will still exist. Many European educational systems are ranked well above us.
This is exactly representative of the U.S. economy. We think we're so much better off than Eurofags, and we don't realize we're actually slightly worse off in many terms; Health care costs, education, even entrepreneurship and liberty. But we got allll the billionaires and money and America's number 1 because other people in America are at the top of the world?Just because some people here can go to the #4 Uni instead of the #16 Uni doesn't mean the schooling I've received hasn't been worse than in the U.K.
>>
>>676528984
Yeah, that's pretty much what European new communists promise. "The vote back to you", "power to the people", "change", "we are the 99%", blah blah... In the end of it, they just want to increase the spending and make a rich hunting. The only way to take the big money away from politics is making the government smaller, and that's way far from what socialists want. You should read about what's going on in Greece and Spain to see where the "99%" politics leads to.

I don't want to lose that at all but it keeps getting worse because the left wants to be as Eurocentric as possible in the name of progressive ideals. The small/big govt idea is not as the last guy says who talked about neoliberals. It's more about letting the states govern themselves as much as possible while shrinking the federal govts influence in the states. So that way if you want to live in a socialist utopia where the govt is expected to be your mommy and your pwecious widdle feefees are more important you can live in California and if you want to be responsible for yourself and be treated like an adult you can live in Georgia.

You know politicians are supposed to be representative of the people right? You're saying the best way to give power to the people is by taking all power away from the people. Leaving it to what? Big business of course, for whom your suggestions would only increase the unregulated power of. Or maybe you just have some magic way of telling whether a politician is corruptible or not before they've ever been in office.

Either way, simply regulating the amount of money that can go into campaigns would make much more sense and have far fewer retarded consequences.

Just because we start borrowing ideas from socialism doesn't mean we are becoming socialist.

People like Sander's aren't marxist socialists. It's like socialism lite. It's literally just changing where tax money goes, and forming some government programs that hopefully make a more resilient and stable financial climate for everybody, even the rich people.

The fact that anybody can be convinced anything this guy says is controversial demonstrates how regressive we've become. People have no idea exactly how fucking rich America really is. It's stupid to insist anything isn't affordable.

Taking power away from representatives puts more power in the hands of the people. They have no accountability, and by making more regulations all you do is create the illusion of accountability. Everything the government does can be done by private companies and their would be less red tape. Vote with your wallet

America was founded on the principle of free socialism. One where a government would care for it's citizens and it's citizens would guard against despots in leadership. Many of the country's systems are setup in a socialistic way and most people never notice because there is always a capitalistic approach attached to them. Examples being Amtrak, USPS, Medicare/Medicaid, Minimum Wage, Federal grant money for education grants, Subsidizing the drug research industry, the oil industry, and the auto industry.
The thing the government does for America are almost endless. The money and resources America gives out to foreign countries each year is in the multi-billion range.
Shortsighted politicians have put off spending money on critical infrastructure improvements for so long that our way of life as a 1st world country is being threatened. Sanders is popular because he wants to spend less money on pointless and endless wars and focus it on fixing what is wrong in America. The uber rich don't want that because it would mean Change. Obama tried that but wasn't political enough to get the totally corrupt politicians to work with him.

Regular citizens are fed up with a broken and corrupt government who not only can't do their jobs, outright refuse to do them. Never in the history of America has Congress done less. It is for these reasons that individuals like Trump and Sanders are so popular to the public Joe and Jane Public.

Ultimately, if America wants REAL change, they need to demand laws making bribing Congressmen illegal, vote out the absolute corrupt, and stop the epic rich, .00001% of America from having the power to dictate a 300+ million people nation.

That is NOT the only problem. While the GOP has always ran the racist sexist strategy, that is not the why young liberals find her untrustworthy.
Also, America NEEDS Hillary? She's literally campaigning as a third term Obama, and is promising to do 90% the same stuff, so I don't see how we need that. Whether you Obama's policies were good or bad, there's clearly not some big need for 3rd term Obama, although I'd personally prefer Sanders>3rd term Obama>plenty of others stuff>Clinton>90% of Republicans.

>representatives of the people are not accountable to the people
Well I suppose if the government you live under is completely irrationally fucked then it wouldn't go without saying a representative of the people is accountable to the people. For anyone with common sense, it's just that. You're not only suggesting that people shouldn't have power at this point, you're suggesting that it's impossible to create a government where someone supposedly representing the people can be punished for acting blatantly outside the interests of those people.

If you want to know who ACTUALLY isn't required to do anything for your benefit and IS completely unaccountable to the people when they screw you over, that would be the big money interests that you're shilling so hard in support for. You went in a compete circle from saying we should do something about corrupt politicians to saying we should do nothing about the special interests that corrupted them.
>>
>>676536881

Obama has done a lot of good, considering the shit sandwich that he was passed down. He will totally go down as one of the best presidents in recent American history.

I'm just saying failure is not guaranteed. He seems lite-er still. Not all of Europe is a mess either, and most of the issues don't seem ideological in nature.

America, unlike most European nations does have the resources for a moderately socialist society to be sustainable. It's not trying to do too much with too little. It's actually just not trying to do anything at all.
>>
>>676536678
Actually only nordic countries are truly socialist. Most of Europe is ruled by right-wing governement.

More to the point, the real solution is just for fewer people to go to college.

It isn't that important. 75% of graduates don't even wind up in a job where having a degree matters.

It's the best-kept secret of capitalism: we will always always always ALWAYS have more janitors than CEOs. Even if everyone in the country is QUALIFIED to be a CEO, most of them won't ever be.

The whole myth of college is that if you go and get a higher education, you won't get stuck flipping burgers or driving trucks or whatever. It's bullshit because if everyone goes to college we still need the burgers to be flipped and the trucks to be driven.

People die or go bankrupt from medical bills/no coverage. Most people in the USA are starting to get tired of paying trillions to fund wars that haven't accomplished much while watching our infrastructure crumble. >>
>>676538149
they do this with every country on earth

the point is that you have the headquarters, CEOs, Finance, Silicon valley etc that no else has but companies can move all this somewhere else too then you will be like the rest of the world with companies who pay no tax AND THEY ARE BASED ABROAD

you think you special little snowflakes are the only ones who have everything outsourced?
>>

All that stuff(at least where I live) are private companies that I pay a bill to every month. Not govt owned.
>>
Reminder that socialism means worker control of production.

A number of different, mutually incompatible ideologies are socialist. When workers' councils directly seize factories, that's socialist. When the government uses tax incentives or grants to promote worker-owned enterprise, that's socialist. When a (democratic) country establishes national industry (or nationalizes existing industry), that's socialist.

When the government taxes the rich to buy healthcare for the poor, that's not socialist.

My parents took in about $60,000 last year, they own a small business.
I am on their tax plan. It was recently brought up to $1200 a month for 3 healthy people. An employee driving a company van hit two people on a motorcycle and ruined their life's. The 2 million dollar umbrella insurance my parents have is not covering all their medical bills and lawyer fees. For they don't settle my parents could very likely lose their business. I also recently found out I have a serious histoplasmosis infection and already owe 2000 in copay.
Shit like this Is happening all over the country. Single payer would more than pay for itself.

>>676525299
We are moving more and more to the left because the people are demanding more and more from the capitalist class who has been accumulating wealth and guiding the legislative policies of our country toward that end since McKinley's Election in 1896. When they consolidated their capital during the gilded age in the form of railroads and corporate farming operations, they effectively crowded small producers out of the markets while still benefiting from the social perception that it was bad legislation which led to inequality, not free market capitalism, because that's how the aristocracy was created in europe (feudalism, monarchy). What they slowly came to realize is that people outside of government could also create inequality, but by that time the damage was done. Small producers had to sell themselves out for wage labor..and ever since, the people have been demanding and in many cases receiving reform legislation pertaining to labor aimed at ameliorating the damage caused by the hoarding of socially created wealth.

This is what I'm talking about though. Everyone BITCHES AND MOANS INCESSANTLY about their tax rate and never gives a second thought to what they pay for everything else.
