Well, there ARE very very few applications where it may count. But if it is so important, you cannot rely on someone, who has installed the socket in your house tens of years ago. You have special socket and plugs for such applications.
In real world applications, using the britbong plugs for this, just makes it more complicated and less flexible: You cannot even plug your device in "upside down".

The BS1363 is basically dripping with safety features, which is why the UK has the lowest death rate from electrical injuries in Europe:
The sockets are shuttered - the earth pin is longer, and pushes on a triangle which moves plastic plates out of the way on live and neutral... so if a child pushes a nail into a live socket, it doesn't make connection.
