4 was a garbage game made for multiplayer and cutscenes. It's just like 5 small levels filled with hours of cutscenes and since you have to move slow it feels bigger.

As someone whose played every game, yes MGS 3's reboot was the best game. Taking the story, gameplay and level design while adding the 3rd person camera was awesome.
MGSV is alot of fun, but it lost me after about 200 hours.

Problemo with Twin Snakes was the original games locations and gameplay were built around its camera work.
So when they gave you the option to fight Ocelot in first person in TTS it meant you could defeat him by simply standing in one spot. Plus the cutscenes were directed by the same guy who ruined Godzilla for the japs with Final Wars.

The cutscenes and the voice acting ruined the game for me. The original for me felt more complete and grounded.

Yep. Thing was fucked all over but so was Resident Evil 1 and Deadly Premonition and heaps of other games people fell in love with.
Like any FMV adventure game I wouldn't even begin to say others would enjoy it as much as I did but the immersion was pretty good for a game made on such a low budget in Australia of all places.
Had a real time clock you had to be aware of, multiple pathways, multiple endings, you could shoot literally everyone in the game. Actually the "best" ending involves you locking up Almost every character including your love interest and wandering the streets depressed.

LSL7 is still my favourite but this remaster was the best for the sheer amount of audio there was in it. There were very few "no I can't do that" stock audio clips. Use your zipper on the moon, narrator talks about you trying to hit the moon with your piss. Was brilliant.
Pity the guy in charge of it was such a cunt he pretty much killed the franchise forever and made Al Lowe go back into retirement.

Considering great vidya, I'd love to hear your guys' opinion on Dragon's Dogma and Dark Souls.
Those two are probably my favourite ones. Those are some of the few AAA games these days that rely on ACTUAL GAMEPLAY religiously and feature really enjoyable,if a bit different, mechanics.
And I try being objective. There are a ton of other great old games: KOTOR, Baldur's Gate 2, Planescape Torment, Ass Effect etc., but they are more spectacle than an actual game.
Ironic, that those two are my favourite, considering that I generally REALLY dislike Japanese games (like FF and the like. BLEH)
There's a good reason why many thinks this is the best horror game there is. Fuck Konami for fucking up everything.
