The second fight Luke still loses. Darth's taunting nearly causes total victory as it sends him over the edge into the Dark Side right into the Emperor's plans... and when Luke resists the Emperor would have killed him. Both times Luke was completely outclassed.
Rey however beats the Sith who murdered all the other Jedi.

The original Death Star was a fortress they'd had to infiltrate and fight their way out of, so when it blew up at the end we cared about it. The thing had had a presence in the film.
