I've got a 20 gallon tank with some tetras and a pleco, had 2 fiddler crabs but they escaped/died. Only got a tank because I work at a pet store and they gave it to me for free. You've got questions I've got answers.

I got a 120 liter tank with Cardinal and Black Tetras, Pearl Gouramis and small Crayfish, called Acocil.

I have been meaning to restructure the tank for a for over a year, waiting for the Tetras to die away, but they are going strong, 5 years plus and counting.
>>
i once had a tank with a bunch of tetras that lived for almost a year without feeding them or cleaning the tank.

Jk he was really cool
But once again, this was back when I was new to fish, so I didn't know you can't have shrimp + cichlids lolz. The cichlids got a nice shrimp dinner.

Those shrimp are pretty cool and legit in a community tank though. Same with snails. Oh yeah, cichlids love snails, so getting a snail "problem" in your [cichlid] tank is a great idea

I got a 36 gallon with tetra glofish, danio glofish, one guppy, and a shitload of dwarf shrimp. 2 singapore flower shrimp, 5 amano, and tiny uncountable hordes of red and yellow cherry shrimp. Also, five tiger nerite snails.

I also have a small brackish water tank with opae ula hawaiian volcano shrimp.

The snails eat algae so fast I have to supplement their feed, though there is a competition with the shrimp. I have to add algae culture and algae tabs to keep everything fed. Water change and the occasional filter change and I'm good.

I was very pleased to (carefully) find out that tetras and danios are shrimp safe. Unless the babies actually go swimming in the middle of the tank, nothing messes with them, and they're generally skittish enough to hide.

Cherry shrimp. Beautiful, great cleaners, sadly tasty to most fish.

Anyone ever done a planted tank? I've been wanting to do an amano style planted tank for a while, especially after I saw this.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yd75U05jm1Y

I'd really like to get an eel or something to put in a tank like that, do a dragon scene, but freshwater eels either suck (spaghetti eel) or get too big. The so called freshwater morays look great but they're really a brackish water fish, and I'm not willing to shorten ones lifespan just to put him in with freshwater plants. Plus he'd eat all the cherry shrimp, but it'd be easy to breed enough to just use them as feeders.

I'm thinking of getting a turtle, the on land kind.
Anyone have any experience with those?
Are they expensive to feed, or can you basically feed them fish food?
How often do I need to buy a new shell for it?
Can I let it out of its cage or is it unsafe for it?
