The Skys are fucking sick cars. And a LS3 swap shouldn't cost that much. You can get LS3s with the TR6060 for a little under $10k. And I know it's not $15k to put them in. At most you'd need new mounts, driveshaft, oil pan, and possibly a new k-member. Really, all said and done shouldn't be more than $17k.

The W220 S65's I've looked at were very well maintained so I'm inclined to think that continued service will keep it going for a while without any issues. My ML500 has 130K on it and I have yet to have a single major issue and my CLK is humming right along at 78K.
My boss has a 2006 S65 AMG and an SL65. Every year we have a staff car show and my AMG's are always parked next to his.
I had a W140 S600 years ago and loved that thing to death, but a dizzy soccer mom plowed her Honda odyssey into me while texting and driving. I was completely unscratched and aside from whiplash was pretty good.

Ehh... I'm telling you think you won't have the low end response that you are looking for, you'd have to only stay to pulls on the highway. My advice is to get a smaller turbo (~.51) and a larger turbo (.67+). That would net you the best powerband.

There is literally no reason to run aftermarket twins other than bragging rights, it costs a shitton more having to purchase double of everything, you wouldnt gain any bottom end performance or faster spool over a single gtx anyway.
A gtx3582r is one of the best choices in fast spooling turbo's out there, you could drop to something smaller like a gtx30 but most people just end up having serious traction issues with them and you lose alot of the top end anyway.
