I had a miserable fucking case of mono that shut down part of my liver. (Didn't know mono can do that? Neither did I.) They thought I had hepatitis A because it was so bad and I had eaten clams on the half shell. Nope -- mono.
I itched all over my body but especially the bottoms of my feet and legs.
I was jaundiced with yellow eyes. I puked constantly and my pee looked like molasses.
When it was finally over, a month later, I had to throw my bed sheets away because of all the vomit, blood and piss everywhere.
If someone told me I'd have to go through that experience again, I'd just shoot myself. Not even exaggerating or bullshitting. I'd rather die.

Sounds like when I had Brain Surgery. Yeah, I know, the Brain can't feel anything - true, but the Brain controls every fucking thing else in your body, and after it's been messed with, the rest of you gets royally jacked up.
After surgery, all I did for a solid month was try not to die. Being totally serious here. Everything was a mess. I had so much snot coming out my nose I used a tweezer to pull vienna sausage sized chunks of it out, but eyeballs wouldn't tear up, so I had to keep adding drops in order to keep them from gluing shut, which they did anytime I slept. My kidneys shut down, my adrenals shut down, my liver function went all over the map, I shit myself more times than I could count because the surgeons tweaked part of my stem where my butthole is controlled, and my bladder too. I was hot, cold, then started pissing from something called "diabetes insipidus" which isn't diabetes in the classic sense.
Yeah. Totally fucked up.
