For what I read the story is this. Randy and Eddie (Van Halen) were always competing playing in the strip. Most of the bands had good comradery with quiet riot (Randys band) except VAn halen. Randy was friendly to everybody (When he got the Ozzy gig George lynch got his teaching spot). Except van halen, there were assholes in town and they are stil assholes but hey they were good so they tought that justified the attityude. They even participated in a band contest and quiet riot defeated van halen. But the rumors of being rival bands started when Randy went to a Van halen show and wanted to congratulate Edie but Eddie ignored Randy. RAndy was an amazing guitar player but what made him good is that he was constantly improving himself and the last days of his life he wanted to go to UCLA to learn harmony an counterpoint but no one in the Ozzy camp let him. 35 years later Eddie still plays the same shit and we only wonder how good Randy could have been....
