It was for other people. I started in Science so most of our lectures had like 200-400 people, in 3rd year we specialise so my new class size is 24 and it was much easier to actually talk to people.
If you don't have a problem introducing yourself to people than you should be able to find a few friends. I dunno how it is where you are but most of the people in first year here didn't know more than 2 people.

My mum was concerned about me and paid for me to see a psychologist bloke but I didn't go for long. I don't think I'm crazy or need help, it's just who I am. The problems came because how it effected my working life and the anxiety and depression that comes from playing the part of "normal" for other people. Things changed for me when I got my degree and started taking my art seriously and I'm well on my way to making money from it. My wife has been my real saviour though because she loves me as I am and doesn't put any pressure on me to be what everyone else thinks is good for me.
It's apparently very under diagnosed and lots of people are good at hiding it to the point they may not realise that's what they are doing. That's pretty much what I was like for over half my life.
It doesn't define me, but people like me to explain myself in these terms or I come across as mad I think.

Until about 17, it was 2 or 3.Then my best friend moved to a different place to do his A-levels and I fell in with a couple of groups, sorta came out of my shell so to speak. I recently turned 19 and I'd say that number is now 5 really close friends and 10-15 people I get along very well with. Unfortunately, we've all gone our separate ways to uni, and none of those I mentioned are uni friends. I reckon it's harder to find people I click with at uni because everyone's so normal - I went to an all boys grammar school, so most people were reasonably intelligent and a little weird, which is how I'd describe myself. I used to have many, many-many. It's been fewer and fewer these last years as family life has taken over. I don't like it. I have three-four friends I talk to every week. I have thirty old friends who would let me live on their couch and eat their food for months if I needed it. But most of them live in other cities. I talk to them on the phone, but the talks are few and far between.
I have more aquaintances now. People I meet and talk to, but who would think it was weird if I crashed at their place, or wanted to get together and make a meal and hang.
