All you need to do is find a blank key and look at a vid on Youtube about bumping. Bumping should do the trick. Just be patient as there is a learning curve to get the hang of it.

A lot of vending machines have a sequence of button presses to put it in maintenence mode. If the tech (machine owner usually) didn't change the code, it could be on factory default. Look up some codes and try them. You might get free soda.

Unless you can pick locks, no. But, a screw driver put between the shafts and twisted will break it easy. Alternative, does someone have a swiss army knife? Many of them have metal files. Could take a minute that way. Pretty much any thin metal rod, and enough leverage will pop it off easy.

At most maybe weld two hoops and put a regular padlock in its place. But replacing a lock like that is beyond me.
