what does /b/ think about self driving cars
Horrible idea
>>674668624
my car practically drives itself every night when i'm blackout drunk.
it's nothing new.
I think it's a step in the right direction for the eventual self-lynching nigger.
>>674669139
Houston we have a problem. It would appear my sides have entered orbit.
>>674668624
That they have absolutely nothing to do with OP's pic.
>>674669139
>>674668624
Matters not what we think of them, they are coming. Shitton of money being fueled into them.
>>674668624
Awesome.
Cops can't get enough revenue from tickets, way fewer cops to hassle you.
Traffic slows, is safer but the traffic jams disapear as humans are taken out of equation.
Almost no accidents.
Etc.
As long as every single one of them is synchronized, I think this would be really useful but it makes me wonder if people would even bother buying brand new cars?
>>674670662
I meant.
Traffic is slower, yet no traffic jams. You get there faster while going at safer speeds.
>>674670662
>>674670889
we'll all be long dead before this is bigger than googles playground in silicon valley, if anyone thinks this is in the near future they probably also thought obabo was gonna take their guns to.
>>674671470
Dunno about the time frame, but they WILL become a widely adopted reality.
>>674668624
Humans are the reason the vast majority of crashes happen. Networked driverless cars will result in minimal crashes. Drunk driving is a thing of the past. All bad drivers are gone. You can get more accomplished because you won't be wasting time driving. Traffic jams disappear. The transportation industry is revolutionized by not needing human drivers.
It's just too good.
>>674672421
Cont.
Every level of government will save money by needing less law enforcement which results in lower taxes.

>>674672421
I'm not sure I buy the "no traffic jams" bit. You're still gonna have a shitload of vehicles squished through relatively few lanes of traffic. Even if those vehicles are making optimal driving choices at every moment, there's only so much they can do -- clogged lanes are clogged lanes.
>>674672421
the human element will never disappear, i want my foot on the pedal and i like fast things. this will never change.
>>674673350
Even when 95% of cars are self-driving, there will be 5% poorfags who still drive old school human-driven cars.
They'll be the ones (like you, leadfoot), causing all the accidents.
>>674673165
Optimal driving choices are the answer to traffic jams. Fully networked vehicles will facilitate seamless flow which today's road infrastructure is more than adequate to handle.
>>674673350
How many limp dicked cuck-fag sensitive liberals do you have to see walking around before you realize society is forcing generations to be more domesticated? Also: what's the atomic number of the human element?
>>674673350
Sure it will. Once the overwhelming benefits of a driverless car is proven the time will come when human driven models are banned for the safety of everyone.
>>674673935
Perhaps. I'll believe it when I see it.
>>674673165
Clogged lanes are only clogged due to humans driving varying speeds.
When synchronized, it will flow infinitely better.
Would fucking love this technology. Was in a bad car accident several years back and still get anxious when I get in the car, fucking hate driving through the city. I'm a safe driver but keep seeing crazy shit on the road and it pisses me off/stresses me out. Worst part is I have to drive almost every day because of work.
>>674674454
Even if they aren't completely eliminated it'll be immensely better than what we have now.
>>674673900
>>674674104
>>674674195
>i want my foot on the pedal and i like fast things
you morons seem to think everyone with a fast car drives at full speed all day long, that's not what i meant. but hey don't ever think twice before you post right?
Networked driverless cars will also eliminate the need for nearly all forms of traffic control signals/signage.
>>674668624
Pretty soon robots will be fucking our women and seeding them without the need for man
>>674670563
14 year old detected.
>>674674962
and there's this asshole that thinks the entire planet will be somehow mapped into a grid and fed into these cars so they know when red lights and green lights should be applied.
>>674668624
I would rather fuck up than being fucked.
Can't wait to sleep my ass all the way to work and then sleep all the way back home, a glorious day indeed.
