I only know what I know because I developed a Peyronies dent that scared the shit out of me - happened overnight Since then my dent has partially filled in, but I've developed a smaller one on the opposite side. My dents now seem stable, so that's probably it for me.
Peyronies and Dupuytren's are definitely connected - it's the same thing that affects the fasciae in the hands and the fingers fold over the palm and can't open. Both are recognised as a sort of autoimmune, when the body replaces flexible tissue with rigid, calcified tissue that doesn't belong there. Dupuytren's can be treated somewhat by surgery - Peyronies surgery is more brutal and often less successful.
Whether it recovers will depend on your particular condition and time. It might, but it might not, as the body has to effectively dissolve the calcified tissue.
As an aside, it can also affect the soles of the feet - similar tissue - Ledderhose disease
