For Windows I know there's a hosts file in a path that's something like
C:/windows/system/drivers/etc/hosts
And you can just be like:
Site.com 127.0.0.1
Where 127.0.0.1 is what ever place you want site.com to go to

That's because these scummy porn sites like to try and infect your computer. I stopped going to that site after I got shenanigans similar to this like a year ago. xhamster started doing this to and I don't go there anymore either. Although for xhamster it only does it once and then stops for some reason.

Nope, it's not specific to mac. It's the precursor to vim. Vim is basically vi with more features, as far as I understand it.
I don't use either of them on the regular, just when I need to edit files on servers, so I'm not exactly an expert.
