I have read that doing "hacking pranks" on campus were common. Like putting lights/bicycles/etc on the dome building (forget what it is called). Hacking into the computer systems, messing around with the electrical system to make the lights do fun things (example: some group made a building's lighting system into a playable Tetris).
Just shit like that. MIT has a long history of hacking things.

What? "Hacking" originated (in the modern sense) at MIT. It is encouraged. As long as no one/nothing gets permanently fucked up.
