I believe suicide can be the right answer. In all honesty, not all people are meant to live. Take me for example, I'm extremely depressed and I'm giving myself 5 more years in the gutter before I end it. My life isn't going anywhere, and nobody cares for me really.
Now, people will argue that "suicide is bad, because you make the others around you sad!" or "you'll make other peoples lives rough.". My answer to that is, who gives a fuck? They're not the ones living in pain every day, they're not the ones tortured by the thought of suicide.

Not true, Suicide is the new Natural Selection. There's no way around it, besides basically torturing the victim (keeping said depressed person alive.)

I don't like to admit it but this is what I feel. If you wasted your life and there is literally nothing you can do, I don't see the point to continue. Not like you get any younger. For what? You are already fulled with regrets, why not end it. I honestly believe people have the right to do what they want with their lives and if its suicide, then its their choice. Just don't be overly selfish by doing murder/suicide or jump in front of a truck so you can traumatize some guy trying to make a living.

If you shoot yourself in the head, there is a good chance you wont die. Many people fuck this up, every year.
Aiming up into the roof of the mouth. Many times people jerk the gun as/before they pull the trigger. Causing the bullet to go
A) Through the back of their throat
B) Through the front of the skull, destroying the nose as an exit wound
C) Too far to a side, rupturing the skull, causing internal bleeding but not death, causing swelling of the brain.
These are all extremely painfull, and most often (unless the person takes a second shot) does not result in the person dying.

honestly I think the only time it's the answer is when you're either terminally ill or have some kind of condition (mental or physical) that causes you unrelenting misery and shows no sign of letting up despite exhausting all viable treatment options. an example would be someone who has a painful chronic medical condition that is incurable and makes it impossible to enjoy life.
mental disorders raise more issues, because the matter of whether you are of sufficiently sound mind to make a rational decision to die is in question. depression is a chief example. many people who are depressed truly cannot remember what it's like to be happy, even if they have photos, diary entries, etc to prove they were. they feel things have always been horrible and will always be horrible even if it's not true. of course for some people, their upbringing was so bad that things really have been horrible forever. they feel permanently crippled by it to the point where they have no hope of recovery. then there are people who are psychotic and the only meds that help have such bad side effects that it wrecks their life almost as bad as the psychosis. in a case like that, the decision to die should not be made while they're psychotic.
in the case of mental illness or of feeling damaged, I feel a person should spend at least 10 yrs living on their own, and a similar span exploring treatment options, self-help etc, before deciding that life isn't worth it. everybody's family fucks them up, a little or a lot. you can't really see it in perspective or know how much work it will take to fix it until you're away from your folks awhile. some relief can be had just by shifting your perspective this way. also, mental illness or no, meds or no, you still should put in a few years of good hard elbow grease trying to fix your life and yourself before calling it a loss.
