Look for a book titled "The Practice Effect"
Time travel movie where people widely have access to time travel machines and so there a time police that go around preserving history so people don't wildly change shit, but then it's all "whoa, what if they are just saying history happens a certain way that benefits them" and in reality have been using time machines to shape the world to meet their needs secretly for years. But no one really knows what was really supposed to happen so the protagonist eventually goes back and stops time travel from ever having been created, which ends his own line of existence in the process and stuff.

So digging these ideas, problem is its a short film contest 7-15 minutes.
The idea we have right now is:

>classic American family show
> show ends, rolls credits, aliens language credits
>set drops and you realize the actors are actually prisoners that are being forced to reenact television broadcasts that this alien race has been picking up on
>prisoners were abducted astronauts that are slowly being vaporized if not acting to their best
It's kind of a dark comedy I guess. Goes from funny and light hearted to dark real fast.

A very simple AI program gets created for driving cars more effectively. Soon they also drive f1, nascar or whatever ect. Because of the massive population increase, people build upwards more and more. Cars are able to drive on vertical walls via magnets or some shit. Soon everyone is living on 50 floor high buildings littered across cites. AI program gets hijacks or some shit, stopping all transport. People become prisoners of their lifestyle, trapped high up in their fancy arse flats and MadMax style situations take over. Meanwhile the very poorest of the poor who live on the ground, dirty earth pesents know no different. With the toxicity of the cars now slowly dispensing into the atmosphere or some shit, they can finally see huge growths in their farms and shit, but they all die some COPD or something. Fuck knows, Im bored now.

A world without white people vs a world with only white people
A boy falls in love with a girl.
Unable to confess, he is gifted with by a deus ex machina with the girl's phone number. Never minding the strange area code, he immediately calls her, and is overjoyed to find out that she has a crush on him as well.
But, the next day, when he recounts the previous day's confessions to the girl, she only looks at him with a perplexed expression. After some investigation, he finds out that the girl he called is not the same girl he fell in love with. In fact, she doesn't exist in this universe at all. She is the girl's alternate universe counterpart, who has fallen in love with the MC's own AU self, who too is blissfully unaware of her crush.
Hijinks ensue as the two strike up a deal to give each other their darkest, most private secrets in order to equip the other with the weapons they need to conquer the heart of their other selves. While the two chase their respective loved ones, DRAMA ensues as they begin to fall in love with each other instead and question the NATURE of LOVE.
