Because there's a high chance on hormones that your sexdrive will be nuked.
Some of the changes such as breast growth (without surgery), and potentially (if long enough) sterility are premenant.
If you think you are actually trans then you might consider finding a gender therapist in your area, or an informed consent clinic if there is one around. Or find somewhere to order the hormones online, but there's risk of doing damage with wrong doses or other side effects if you DIY.

As a trans person, HRT for years, its kind of upsetting crossdressers post so much. I feel like my years of learning to put on makeup, buy a wardrobe so I can go out and live as a female ever day of my life, its all just kind of a game to them.
