Store manager of a Dollar General here, a kid comes in every week and buys roughly 60-70 bucks in sodas, chips, candy, sometimes beef jerky. I asked em once if maybe his parents owned a stand somewhere, he sells it at school. He said he generally makes 90-100 a week selling his snakes. He takes some of that to restock and just sticks the rest in a savings account. He told me last time he checked he had almost $1,200 in the bank just from that.
Some teachers don't like it, but he said most don't care so long as he only sells it out in the hall and not in class. He has a note book of best sellers, seasonal sellers, hot items, and items that don't sell. Even has a client list of people that will pay extra for specific items.
He said he tried getting another person to join him to help, but he ended up keeping the money . Fucking smart kid, he'll be a goddamn investment broker some day.

I sold a bunch of different shit in middle and high school. School vending machines and cafeteria were overpriced, but I got in trouble too often for it to be worth it. I used to do gum, soda, chips, and generic poptarts. Everytime a teacher gave me shit about it I got the money seized or I got detention. My options were to "donate" my money to avoid trouble, or to keep it and take detention.
In highschool I sold MTG booster packs for $2 each or 3 packs for $5. All the packs were either stolen or more oten purchased from this shop one town over that would sell me "damaged" boxes of trading cards. The fucking cardboard box would get soaked and then paper stuck to the outside of the booster pack. Fuck if me or my customers cared though, the cards inside were good.
I only made like $200 the whole school year in middle school, but in highschool I was making more than $100 a week. It was great.

When I was in 6th grade, I made a well over a 1K USD selling cinnamon paper. If you don't know what that is, you dip paper in cinnamon oil and then suck on it. Fucking gross. I would cut up the paper in consistent size rectangles, cinnamon oil it, wrap it in aluminum foil, and sell a half a sheet for a dollar. It takes almost no cinnamon oil and for $8, I could get a bottle of cinnamon oil that would make hundreds of sheets of paper. My operations ended with the principal calling me into his office during the end of the 1st period one day to say I couldn't do it any more.
