how much faster does killing yourself become when you possess a doctorate?

I have extreme ADHD how mentally fucked am I?
>>
Is tau or BACE the way?
>>
>>674325640
Depends on your method, anon
Ultimately, the notdead/dead transition happens.
The choice we all have is how uncomfortable the notdead foreplay will be
>>
>>674325836
Dunno, anon. Since I can't fix it with a knife, I'm not your guy. But hopefully you get that shit sorted.

>>
How hard was it to get a residency and how top tier do you really need in terms of those standardized tests in your second and third year to become a neurosurg?
>>
>>674326261
Its a combination of Tau and AmylisonB you fucking first year biology study dhithead.
>>
>>674325499
Whats the most fascinating thing you've learned so far?
>>
I had a plate put in my head after Iraq and recently began experiencing seizures and pain near the plate. Does it need to be removed or is this most likely the result of something else?
>>
>>674326261
No offense, anon, but that's like asking 'what's the formula for the fountain of youth?' Smart people are working on it, but I'm skeptical we'll see anything with clinical utility in our lifetimes

>>674326533
Just like Barbie said about math: it's hard. The numbers are out there so you can statistically crystal ball your chances. You should ace the tests so it's not an issue. It's presumed you will. Nothing else on your application will compensate for subpar standardized test performance. Does that have any meaningful predictive value as to your ability? Nope. But thems the rules, anon. Gotta play by their rules if you want to play the game.
>>
>>674327078
And how much of your job is slicing and dicing versus diagnosing if you do the former at all? I've heard mixed results from different surgeons.
>>
>>674325836
Same, here severe ADHD. How the fuck do I fix my brain and feel like a responsible adult?
>>
>>674326731
Gonna sound cheesy, /b/ro, but shit is true: the strength of the human spirit. What people and their families go through, keep on keepin on, is pretty impressive.

>>674326987
Sorry to hear that, /b/ro. Shit sucks that you go through all that and then have this to deal with. Pain alone is not a reason to remove the plate (unless it's eroding through the skin). Seizures though deserve a work up. It may be that there was cortical injury in the area underneath the plate which is the source of seizures, not the plate itself. See your doc and make sure you get the controlled with meds. Also, don't drive until you're 6mo sz free. Good luck

How's the Trump endorsement going Mr. Carson
>>
What are some of the best thing I can do to reduce my risk of stroke?
>>
>>674327542
Depends on the practice, anon. You need to meet patients and make diagnoses and generate treatment plans before you operate. Nobody has a 100% hit rate (you don't operate on every pt you meet unless you're a criminal). If you are some superstar that gets global referrals (thinking Spetzler, guys like that), you're hit rate is pretty high. Of course, you have minions doing a lot of the slice and dice in preparation for your money shot. Simply guys like me, lotta meeting people and diagnosing, not as much cutting.

>>674327839
Sorry anon. Like I told /b/ruv above, it's not my area of expertise. But I hope you get it sorted.

>>674327995
Fucker didn't invite me to mar a lago. Said Christie was in the Lincoln Room. Said he'd call me. Didn't. what a bitch.

Simple stuff pays off: stay physically active, keep BP normal, don't let the sugars get out of control. Ask your doc about statins and aspirin.

pic related: mechanical Thrombectomy

Nice vid here from the vendors

>>674329829
Being Ben Carson means not being sad when you should be sad, not being smart when you should be smart, not listening when the echo chamber gets all nutty. I respect the man as a surgeon but that's as far as it goes.

>>674330007
Healthy brain is amazing. Something softer than firm tofu, but not like silken. Beautiful. Diseased brain... Well, shit's all fucked, /b/ro. May feel harder or softer, depending on what's fucking your day.

With the first picture you posted, it appears someone got a nasty case of hollow point to the dome. Did the person survive? How hard was it to fish out the shards of bullet?

Also, just curious, what caliber?

Neurosurgeon spends time on an anonymous anime board that doesn't talk about anime and is 95% faggots.

Most guys have an 80/20 spine/cranial split. Spine cases are typically lumbar. Your case mix depends a lot on where you work, who you work with, what your patient population is like. That being said, good ol' lumbar laminectomy must be pretty high on the list. Degenerative spine disease is pretty common.

>>674331992
Sounds shitty, anon. Glad you got it out. If you are now having new problems, I'd see your doc. May be worth doing a repeat set of images. Could be recurrence of whatever was in there. Good luck

>>674332205
Not my pt, /b/ro. The fact that it crosses midline means it was very likely a fatality. Sorry, don't know the details, but a .22 can kill as well as something larger.

>>674332289
Let know how it goes. /b/ had a skull fucker back in the day (not sure if any of you anons remember that thread; gotta be screencapped somewhere). It's only a matter of time.

You'd be surprised who comes on here. I don't give fucks about anime but I'm an air traffic controller who comments on the occasional aviation shenanigans. I just like you sick fucks and your humor; I'm sure a nuero surgeon can feel the same way.

What do you think is the most important difference between choosing to be a neurosurgeon versus a neurologist? Obviously they are very different in practice but both aspects fascinate me.

.22 FMJ's are actually the caliber of choice for italian mafia when they do up-close and personal jobs. The bullet of enters but fails to exit and just ricochets and makes the interior look like soup(not really but you get the picture).

(>I was going to the store to buy my little sister candy)
(Swear to god: every last one says the same thing) I would classify as dumb.
Drunken falls from balconies, drunken dives to shallow water... Sad? Yes. Tragic? Yes. Dumb? Yup.

>>674332874
