Well, OP, this question pops up a lot. I think there are some things that can be said for how Trump and Hitler are similar, as well as things that can be said for how they're different.
SIMILARITIES: Spurred into motion (according to their public speeches) by a desire to repair a severely dysfunctional country; blame ethnic and/or ideological groups for country's ills; endorse violence on their (party's) behalf; announced aggressive foreign policy plans; aimed to rewrite laws such that their political and ideological opponents could be imprisoned or otherwise punished legally for speaking out against them.
DIFFERENCES: Hitler was nowhere near as wealthy as Trump, being closer to middle-class than upper-upper class; Hitler served in war, whereas Trump would never do such a thing; Hitler was an artist, whereas Trump has no artistic inclinations; Hitler demonstrated superb economic planning, whereas Trump has gone into Chapter 11 bankruptcy four times (the vast majority of Fortune 500 companies--of which he is one--have not gone into any kind of bankruptcy even ONCE); Hitler announced his plans in great detail, whereas Trump seems to either have no idea what he's talking about or intends to keep his true motives secret by simply not talking about them; Hitler was described by the German people as incredibly eloquent (even if his message was ridiculous), whereas Trump is described by the German people as a buffoon.
