Basically the story is Hasbro wanted to make a pet version of MLP so through biological engineering they created Fluffies, but before they were perfected they were released into the wild by PETA.
Fluffies breed almost on the level of rabbits which is why they survive for so long. They were created to be completely dependent on people so how they survive in the wild. They shit like crazy (mostly to be sold as fertilizer), talk in "fluffy speak" which is basically very childlike, and basically exist.
Its interesting in the "lore" that people try to justify why the fluffies do things saying like when a fluffy cries "hu hu hu.." it means they are faking it (which is false) or when a fluffy is lying they don't use their name (which is also false. They forget)
Basically fluffies aren't that smart and are tortured because of the way they breed and become problems for cities. There was one massive story called "The Fall of Cleveland" which shows how crazy the fluffy situation got.

It would be interesting because my friend actually introduced me into fluffies with that Awahu Ackbaw! image which made me laugh.
She said basically its the best part of raising a child before they get to that angsty/rebellous/annoying teenager stage but can be taught how to live and things.
