I'm citing myself.

I suppose I've been okay, but is my own point of view not biased? I just didn't feel like being on the computer for a while. I did advance my XCOM campaign now and then, but apart from that I neither posted on 4chan nor participated in any other form of electronic correspondence.

The more you know, the more you suffer?

Your point of view is more than likely biased. Next time you aren't feeling well, just tell.

How far through the campaign are you? And I think I found a good game for you: Stardew Valley.

Has anything else happened over there?

On top of feeling like being on the Truman Show, did I ever tell you, how annoying it is, when these threads die abruptly?

>>
>>673091999
>The more you know, the more you suffer?
Absolutely. And it seems I know more every day. It wasn't very helpful reading those climate studies; the world is going to hell.

>How far through the campaign are you?
It's difficult to tell. I think it was September of 2016 last time I played, and I'm currently developing MECs. Got mobile power armours already, along with Gauss weapons. I'll look into Stardew Valley. It seems fun, but I'll probably wait for the sales before I get it.

>Has anything else happened over there?
Not really. It's snowing constantly (we're talking several centimeters per day), but that's about as remarkable as it gets here. Apart from the change of guard a week ago or so, it's all the same, all the time.

You did.

That's very interesting, do you speak proper Latin or are you just mangling some sort of grammatically fucked up version of it? I'm french myself, studied Latin for about 3 years back in high school but it's been almost a decade and I've forgotten most of it all.

If you do speak proper latin, would you do me the great service of translating something along the lines of "using the dead tongue of the sage is only wise in appearance and shows naught but the vacuity of one's mind"

Thanks xoxo

The studies tell the temperature anomaly is increasing at an accelerating pace, and locally it has reached new maxima. Back when I was residing in Svalbard, the May temperatures were well into the negative degrees Celsius, now they've a 20°C anomaly, meaning their current temperatures are near 0°C. Not a record high, but climatologically speaking it's very worrying.

Suffer well, now that you still can.

The duration of my stay depends on myself for the most part. I can choose to leave at any time, should I want to. My studies will continue for at least a month or more, depending on how many measurements the team wishes to make.

Let's hope we can do something about this, because I love winter.

And this is also not caused by the climate oscillation? Or do the studies look into causes?

Why exactly did you go there in the first place? And speaking of measurements, did you ask your father, why aren't the stations remote controlled? Or did you already answer that at some point?

By the way, what's that about theta brainwaves?

I've got my share of useless knowledge luggage about lucid dream brainwave frequency, dabbled in the brainbeats, and currently using brain.fm and finding it to my liking, but I'd like more info about what's that.

Also do you self medicate with psilocybin only or do you partake in the occasional indica (i'm sure you're an indica kinda guy)

This screenshot behind wasn't that some bitcoin monitoring platorm back when gox was still up? Or just some random ticker?

Well, let's call it a grey area sexually, doesn't matter either way.

I don't intend to do trading actually, I might end up in a high frequency trading company to design algorithms, just because them head hunters seem to believe it "fits my profile quite nicely". I'm just not too sure that's an environment for me, not creative enough I suppose.

The beauty of the phrase (unless I'm incompetent) is that 'aequor aquam' can either mean the 'deep waters' or the 'surface of the water'. So; did I see God in the depths or in my reflection?

>>673098003
There's an increase caused by the El Niño effect, but it can't explain all of it. Actually, not even one tenth of it, because Svalbard is on the opposite side of the planet to the effect's location.

I did ask my father. In fact, most weather measurements are automatic already, but a station needs to be manned for strong reliability. The reason is quite simple; the high precision instruments need to be calibrated, and manual measurements are taken daily to confirm the automatic measurements.

sheeet, glad you asked

pic related, but first to answer the rest:

maybe twice a year ill go full out and do 5g+ in a "sit down, shut up, pay attention" sitting

whenever i can, ill pack capsules and twice/thrice a week do .5 or 1g worth to start my day on empty

as for indy, i like it to chill out and get into introspective meditations.
personally, i adore sativas, gets me out and moving as long as i dont go full 10 and get so paranoid my skin feels like itll leave me

screenshot is my job. day trader. 8:30-3 erryday. $100 - 1 or 2k a day, depending on how into it i get. but its my money, so im not fucking anyone over if i lose some

back to theta breathing.
its moving through the major brainwaves to get into an elevated state. If done right, you will know.
itll actually feel like a hit of nitrous strating up.

follow this cycle, taking full deep breaths expanding and contracting your diaphragm
N=nose
M=mouth

Ha! Sativa after all then. I find the side effects to be too debilitating, I tend to consume more to achieve the effect I'm looking for (become crazy creative, engrossed in what I do, that adventure feeling) and I'm left a paranoid mess or on the edge, having to fight my own delusions to stay out of it, especially with high quality sativa or shatter. It seems my usual ridiculously low tolerance (no matter the quantity and/or frequency) is even lower with Indica too. So Indica in the evening, running on my usual stimulants during the day.

Regarding trading, that's some pretty impressive numbers, congrats!

I feel like this picture associate brainwaves with nose/mouth breathing, but you say you should alternate? It's not like your brainwave frequency is gonna shit around at every breath, so do you mean to keep NM for a certain amount of time, or literally just chain everything up. Where does that leave you frequency wise?

Depends on the definition. We may be past the point where we can no longer return to a previous climate state, but we probably aren't beyond the point where change becomes self sustaining and kills us all.

>That still sounds a bit inconvenient.
Automatic weather stations and buoys are used in everyday weather measurements, but climate analysis requires more robust data.

>Speaking of being biased
But isn't this who I am? I think it's useless to think of the 'what if' when it doesn't represent reality, rather than focusing on the 'what next'.

We all are biased, but that's because we are who we are. Nobody is perfectly objective.

there is more to this world than we can really know. maybe more than we are actually allowed to know.

So no particular events that made you happy or sad? I've heard that one... ehem... feminine medicine can cause mood swings.

The common factor between those is that all of them connect you to something; your ancestors, nation, relatives, loved ones, etc. A rather controversial man once said "When you have something to die for, then you're alive." Does this answer your question?

How's the choreography coming along?

I've been on the pill for about 2 months because I was too much of a pussy to bring up IUDs directly to my mom, which I rather regret now because it did fuck me up. Would not recommend. Either way, I should have recovered from that and I've always been having mood swings, though the severity did increase as I got older.

I asked for your opinion, which I got so yes.

>My point was, I don't think that depression is part of your identity but it's affecting your world view.
I understood your point, and I disagree. I think depression is deeply rooted into my identity. It's a temporary change in my brain chemistry, but nonetheless a very real phenomenon.

We all are constructed by our past. Therefore being depressed is a result of who I am, and will also have an effect on who I will be in the future. Therefore, is it not thoroughly entwined in my person? Just like language or culture, depression affects how one thinks. To a person, depression is as real as the world, if not more so.

Well those are some extremely advanced techniques, and he does know a lot of what he's talking about. However, the thing about modern archers mainly being stationary is FAR more the truth than anything else he talks about, sadly :P It's a lot less exciting but it's still extremely worthwhile.

As for your right hand question, while I am pretty right handed, I'm weird cause I can only do a lot of specific things with my left hand. One of which is archery. It's the first thing they ask when you turn up, they just so "Close your eyes" and you close one and whatever eye stays open is your draw-hand.

then, depending on whether you want to appreciate an inward or external 'journey'
mushrooms or lsd

mush in a "sit down, shut up, pay attention" scenario
lsd in an open field starting at day break (or go camping for a weekend and do it on the second day)

then, after you appreciate any 'insight' or whatever you feel you have attained, apply it to life.

then ayahuasca or mescaline, but they should be done with a supervisor of sorts. a shaman would be best, but the weeklong get aways are costly so stay away for the time being as you actually leave your body

So it's close to finished? That's good to hear! And your travel plans?

>>673111547
That's one way to think of it. Because it's indeed a temporary anomaly, I view it as a filter. I have very little knowledge about how brains work, but for now, in my mind, somewhere in the depths of your brain, there's a directory containing all of your experiences and thoughts. This is used to construct your personality. Let's call that block A. Block B is for data processing. It uses the data from block A and creates your personality as an output. Now there's a filter between the two blocks and the data is distorted. Sure, you could be a melancholic person but as you've described, depression is something you can get rid of. In a way, I don't think I've met the real you yet.

A completely unrelated and strange question:
What's the story of that shirt? Why does it have sparkles?

>Now there's a filter between the two blocks and the data is distorted.
Distorted? Maybe, but I'd prefer the term 'modified'.

I don't think there is ever a time when the data processing is unfiltered. We have false memories, emotional reactions and strong personal biases, and they all act as 'modifiers'.

I'll adjust the notation of your example a bit; block A is the input, block B is the processing and block C is the output. Block A, therefore, contains both the subject's memories but also the currently observed stimuli. Block B is the 'logic gates' that do the actual processing before sending the results over to block C, which then causes the body to react in some way.

Now, block B is what we're looking at. There are many 'modifiers', which either add or remove logic gates from the function, leading to different outputs using the same inputs. Depression is one such modifier, but not the only one. Therefore, it is unreasonable to talk about 'the real you', as every single one of us is somehow 'modified'.

>What's the story of that shirt? Why does it have sparkles?
It's actually something I sewed some years ago. I thought then that it would be nice to wear to music shows, but I ended up not using it. It's my only black shirt, so I wore it for my Sub-Zero outfit (under the blue tabard I never finished).
>>
>>673114594
It's very unlikely that I have bipolar disorder. Maybe it's indeed my female side? Who knows.

I don't even recall, it probably started with something political. It's very frustrating to talk to him sometimes, and I felt a bit bad about rejecting his offer to hang out earlier today because I wanted to be alone -> weird emotions.

Which is why I asked, because I knew it would be different from my own.

Yip yip! I'm still waiting for a confirmation for a job on a bar in Greece, if I don't get that/they reject it anyway, I will either go to Poland to work on a agrotourism thing with horses (I went there last year, the owners know and like me), or find a place in Ireland. Only 2,5 months of school left so it's going to be pretty soon already.

Yep, very difficult and foreign creatures.

There is, and sometimes absolutely none. It varies.

I think there's no reason to be nationalistic: you did exactly nothing to be born at that spot, there's nothing yóu can be proud of (however, I do think every nation should keep it's culture; nationalism is necessary to some degree). Same thing with family, having to care for eachother for no other reason than because you happened to be born there (excluding direct family, so your parents and siblings), doesn't make much sense to me. To me, they're just empty expectations, that provide an easy reason to live for the masses.

That, and I also want to gain some more experience first so I don't let them down. And maybe learn some Polish first.

If I were talking about how brains work, then yes but to put it bluntly, I'd like to see you without depression. I should start using shorter sentences and hand gestures to avoid the risk of being misunderstood. Basically what happened here, was that I wanted you to be happier and we ended up talking about how one's identity is formed although that's beside the point.

Who knows, maybe even Sub-Zero has a softer side? And did you make the tabard just for the Sub-Zero costume?

>>673121636
I heard they have blue blood and that they eat small rocks. Is this true?

People seem to understand pride in very different ways. To me, being proud of my heritage and culture is about appreciating what others have accomplished. Think of it like a beautiful garden. Past generations have taken care of it and now it's my turn. I didn't plant every flower there but I kept them growing, so that future generations can enjoy the beauty. It's a humble way of honoring other people's work. I may leave my mark on the garden but I don't claim to be the reason, why the garden is so beautiful. Same applies to other things we talked about.

How long would you stay where ever you'll end up?

I would argue that women's blood is more greenish than blue, but the rocks part is correct.

I agree with the garden metaphor, it's what's necessary to preserve culture. But it's because you looked at it, thought about it and made work from it, that you have a reason to take pride in it.

For how long they'll take me, I won't be studying next year and I don't have a stable contract (? don't know the correct translation; I don't have any obligation to work a certain amount of hours a month) at my current job. Or I'll grow bored after a week and never leave the country again.

Depends on the Sub-Zero. I don't see Bi-Han (aka Noob Saibot) being soft at all, but Kuai Liang isn't quite the same.

>And did you make the tabard just for the Sub-Zero costume?
I would have, but I never finished it, because I chose not to go after all.

If I ever find my soulmate, would I make a better first impression by offering marble or granite or is it just a matter of taste?

I think the biggest misconception about nationalism is that there can be nationalism without dedication. A person, who claims to be nationalistic but doesn't give anything to the society, isn't nationalistic.

I think a good plan would be to work and save money for N-1 months and go on a Interrail for the Nth month.

>>673127229

I haven't played Mortal Kombat enough to know what any of that means.

There are two Sub-Zeroes. The first one was Bi-Han, who died and was resurrected as the wraith Noob Saibot. The second one is Bi-Han's younger brother Kuai Liang.

I honestly think it either doesn't have enough exposure or people weirded out by the premise and think ben is creepy rather than artistic. Fuck that though, I'd love to see how many chicks I could check out in the frozen time.

As for the rendition, "hey, that's pretty good". Seriously, nice color, good use of broad and fine strokes. All in all, it's pretty cash senpai.

I see... So Mortal Kombat is in actually a soap opera?

I assume that's more than an average person would put into their costume.

Here's some simple blackened death metal I found:

I'll head to bed now. It was nice to talk again. I think I missed it a bit. See you around. Nuku hyvin and try to feel better. And just tell, if you're having bad days. It's hard to figure out, what's going on in your head, if you shut yourself.
