Yes. Got an interview today, and will be working next week after background check and citizenship verification.
Part of the reason I'm ecstatic today. I don't mind working for myself, I just can't stand the down time and could use a more... Streamlined job where I only have one function instead of 12. If the pay wasn't shit, and the work so seasonal, I'd happily keep doing it. I'm good at it, have years of experience, and I like it.
Shitty pay because illegal immigrants will do it cheaper (because they pay no taxes), and the seasonal hours means I'm rich half the year, but work 6 days a week and the other half I hurt for work and am broke.

I looked into getting my contractors license last year. with the liability insurance, health insurance, the cost of the book and the test, it was about 1/4 of what I MADE last year just to get started.
The illegals here are funny, most work construction, so I'm so used to them. ONE of them will get everything in his name, and then if someone gets hurt, it's always Juan. ONE has the bank account, and pays all his workers in cash. So one guy is paying the taxes on himself, while the rest of them reap the befits.
